In my opinion, that insert looks really dumb lol.

But good to see what looks like it should be an affordable product as opposed to the high-end after high-end stuff so far, and I'm interested to see what the rest of the product looks like

EDIT - As I just checked out the link

Reminds me of Victory

Also, I love when there are typos on preview sheets. No one could catch that? John Travares

Okay, don't jump on me for being negative here... I normally don't 'complain' about designs...

But that Thermal Threat mock-up has got to be the frickin' ugliest card I have ever seen.

They *may* look better in person, but if they look like that when they're on a table at a show, I will be running the other way.

Is this replacing Victory? Honestly looks like it is geared to kids, if that's the target market good job, what's the price point supposed to be?

I actually love the design of that Ovi. Looks like the Human torch from fantastic four. I hope these cards are shiny.

Love it! Another lower end release that has "Master set" written all over it. Need more of these types of products and less high end in my opinion. No jerseys needed. Inserts, parallels and the odd auto is good enough. Kudos to UD

It's different so it show's the gang at upper deck are thinking outside the normal named releases.I would assume the kids as the target but they are so important to include in the hobby.

What else Ya got coming UD ?

This will be interesting for sure. Will be key seeing these in hand and not just mock ups.

My vote will come later.

It certainly sounds like they will shiny if they are calling them "Flashy"

I'm with you. I like it as well. It's different, that's for sure

I still don't think it's too good looking of a card, but I bolded the important statement - It's different.

All we did was destroy them for everything being the same in the Cup, and bashed their lack of creativity. Good to see them trying something different

"•Base Set – (100) Cards"

What in earth were they thinking again? Let me guess: Includes, Gretzky, Lemieux, Sittler, Gilmour, Sakic, the-rookie-who-once-tied-his-skate-laces-but-no-one-has-heard-about and did I already say Gilmour?

They reserve the larger base set for OPC. I believe it costs too much money to produce base which most people care very little for

I love most of the inserts those fire ones not a big fan . But reminds me of Ultra and old school pinnacle . But again it's actually something that is different. I just hope the insert auto's are on card and not sticker.

The key is not the base cards. The key is that "NHL players" doesn't have any cards besides O-Pee-Chee. That is, when you take the current NHL players and exclude rookies and super stars, no-one else gets any cards. There's a huge amount of people who would buy more cards of "NHL players" if they just would exist. Now there is six of those cards, which are O-Pee-Chee base, Red, Retro, Rainbow, Black Rainbow and Blank Backs - one of which is exclusive to Canada and five that are released at once. For example, I'm now waiting for the Reds to come live and then I'll wait until next August-September before I have anything to hunt for.

How about we wait and see a checklist?

Unless it is full of multiplayer cards of 6-8 players, most of NHLers are not featured there. 100 players is roughly three players per team, if one of them is a goalie, not even the captaincy of each team fits there. I can actually bet you that not every team has even a goalie-defenseman-forward trio there.
