What is the deal with the rookies for BAP? Are the redemptions for next years rookies? I see people on ebay list the Redemptions from this year as possible Tavares rookies. Also, see these two Wheeler RC/99, one is 07-08 and one is 08-09 right? So, probably a dumb question that everyone knows the answer to except for me, but whats the deal????

The redemptions from this year's BAP will be for next years rookie crop. The Wheeler from 07-08 is an XRC and the one from this year is a true rookie.

Not sure what an XRC is? Is the 07-08 Wheeler worth less than the 08-09? Also, if I redeem a card from this years BAP and get a Tavares, will it be an XRC? Or a true rookie?

An XRC is a rookie-year card that isn't a rookie card. Though the 07-08 BAP redeemed rookies were made earlier this calendary year, they're still an 07-08 product so they do not count as a true rookie card. I haven't looked over at the Beckett listings to see how the two cards are doing relative to each other, but people will likely be placing more of an emphasis on the 08-09 true rookies. If Tavares/Hedman/etc. are announced as rookie redemptions for the 08-09 product, those will be XRCs while the real rookies will come out with the 09-10 product next April.

Despite the 07-08 Wheeler not being a true rookie according to the definition, I have found in Drew Doughty's case that the 07-08 BAP Rookie is selling for more than the 08-09 true rookie, but I think that's more a case of availability and the low production run of 08-09 making them easier pulls than last year.
