So, we're back on eBay and already two of our items have arrived.. BOTH shipped using a plain white envelope. Whats up with this?

One guys shipping was $1.75, so I somewhat expected to have horrible shipping.. the card got damaged as well.

The second person charged $5 for shipping and $1 for every extra item, I said ok I needed the cards for my 08-09 Young Guns set, so I proceeded.

What can I do in this situation, how do I report this sellers shipping prices, and how they shipped the cards? Also, how do I react to this? I want a refund on the shipping, as the PWE + 96 cent stamp does not equal $6.

Help us,
Tyler & Mitch

Hit them where it hurts - the DSR's that you can rank from 1-5.

If they are a Power Seller keeping your DSR's up is key for discounts on Final Value Fees. Mine are proudly at 5, 5, 5, 4.8 (some people don't like my mailing costs).

You can ask for the refund, but be careful how you word it - you can't hold them "hostage" for feedback, etc - ie don't threaten negative if they don't refund you.

Ask nicely - if they do it great, then I would say a positive with appropriate comments for other potential buyers.

If they don't, I'd neutral or neg because of the high shipping versus value you got.

Just my 2 cents - I'm sure this will fork into multiple arguments about PWE/ eBay shipping fees, etc.....LOL

I would ask for a refund from the guy who damaged the card and I would neg or neutral the guy who charged 5 bucks for a PWE.

Thought I would share this,

I ship base cards to USA in a PWE for $1 and Canada for $1.25 (up to 3 cards) If the card gets lost/damaged I offer to send another if I have it available or a full refund if I dont.

In your situation the guy that charged $1.75 I would ask for a refund or return the damaged card to him for a new one.

The guy that charged $5 +$1 is a greedy *******. Ask for him to consider a discount before you leave feedback. If he says "those were my terms, you shouldn't have bid." Leave him a Negative and move on.

With the economy going down, people are definitely taking more and more shortcuts.

Here's what I've done in the past in these very situations.

First guy: send him a message explaining that your card was damaged and that you would like a refund. Volunteer to send pictures and add that you're not looking to stir anything up, you just want the situation resolved in a manner that leaves both parties without any negative feelings. Also explain to him that it is widely accepted in the hobby that shipping in a PWE is a definite no-no for this very reason.

Second guy: this is infuriating and beyond the pale. Without getting hostile, explain to the seller that while you fully accepted the shipping charge and were aware of it before making your bids, you did so with the assumption that the items would be shipped properly in a bubble mailer. Specifically say that "With a seller who has a feedback rating like yours, you should know better than to use that cheap method." The shipping charge was excessive and you would like to be refunded $4 to bring the charge in line with the reality. It's one thing if a seller overcharges and uses adequate protection for your cards, what he has done is not acceptable. Also give him the spiel about PWEs and their place in the hobby.

Good luck!

The first guy - ask him for a refund.

The second guy - as mentioned, he is making way too much money on shipping so you should ask him for a partial refund. If the cards arrived safely, I'm from the school of though that you should leave a positive but hit him with the DSR's and make your comment very obvious that he ripped you off and shipped in a PWE.
