Question about 05/06 UD Game Jerseys

Hey folks,

I've noticed several strange-looking Yzerman 05/06 UD Game Jerseys popping up on the bay over the past couple of months.

Here's a typical Series 1 Game Jersey (not mine)...

Here's a typical Series 2 Game Jersey SP (mine)...

So what the heck are these?? ...

It features a Series 1 photo...has the thicker Series 2-type border around the swatch window (which appears even thicker than the average Series 2)...yet it is missing the white pinstripe within the border. Has anyone noticed any other players with cards like this? So far, I've only noticed this with the Yzerman's.

I'm not sure, but one of the Yzerman cards are really expensive (about $100 on ebay) and the other costs just about $10.

As for the question, no idea what those are, maybe UD trying to entice buyers into buying those blaster boxes?

they come from retail stores(london drugs, wally world ect.)
they are in a box that guarentees a jersey card or auto, along with a few random upperdeck packs. i opened 4 of these boxes and got 4 of the yzermans

So it sounds kinda like those Target-exclusive Pacific blister packs from a couple years back. Were the UD packs that you mentioned released back in 05/06 or just recently?

I guess it would make sense that the different card design would come from a retail-only release, but I wonder why we're only seeing the Yzerman's?

These weird Yzerman are sold in 10 dollar re-packs at Meijer retail stores here in Detroit... I dont think they are really anything special.

the hybrid that has the Series 1 pic / Series 2 border (w/out the stripe) was thought to have been a factory screwup of the Series 1 jersey card. interesting that you showed 3 versions though....

the yzermans arnt in packs of series one or two, the jersey card is just loose between 2 pieces of cardboard

Sorry, that's what I meant...much like the aftermarket Pacific re-packs that were distributed by the Fairfield company to US Target stores a while back whereas the buyer was guaranteed $xx in book value in every box.
