question about autos on cards

I am still beginning in the hobby so please bear with me. Are there two different ways for players to sign cards? Is there something along the lines of signing a sticker or signing the card directly? Which one is better? How do you tell if you have one or the other?

I don't know a lot about these either, but signing the card itself instead of sticker is much better.

I'm probably the only one that thinks this way, but I dont care if the auto is on the card or on a sticker. Afterall, its the autograph I am looking for to add to the collection.

I agree with you. However, no one can argue that a hard-signed autograph looks much nicer on a card than a sticker. I actually like the way ITG "incorporates" the sticker into their cards. It's a much cleaner design than a sticker slapped on top of a card

The Cup, UD Black, Ultimate, Champs, OPC Premiere, ICE and SP Authentic are the ones that are generally hard signed.

The other products are all sticker autos

Sticker autos are fairly easy to tell apart, just fyi.

Also, I really don't mind sticker autos as long as they compliment the design and look like they belong. There are a lot of really sharp hard-signed autos, though.

I don't mind stickers either. However, how the card is designed for the sticker counts a bit.

For example.

Heroes and Prospects earlier designs have the stick slappped at the bottom of the card whereas the last three releases have designed the card to incorporate the sticker and it looks much better and less obvious.
