Question about Burbank Sportscards

i was watching a video on Burbank Sportscards on YouTube and was amazed at the amount of cards that this store has.
I was wondering if anyone could please fill me in with some information..
Are there many HI members who buy there?
If so when you go in what do you usually buy?

Is this more of a store where you take in your WANT-LISTS and they can go through and pull out the cards from their inventory..
OR
can you go through boxes of cards to find the cards which you are looking at to complete your sets? Such as getting those last few base cards..etc

The store just looks incredible from the video, though I've never been in it..
I've been watching some of their cards on ebay too.

Any info on the store would be great!

Almost all of their inventory is available online, so you can easily search for cards that are on your wantlist. I believe that they have their own website, but are definitely are Beckett Marketplace.

For me, they are a great source for base and lower-end inserts. However, in the past I have found them to be very inflexible on their pricing for higher-end cards. Saying that, if you need a place to knock off several cards on your wantlist, they are definitely a good place to start.

One final observation, their shipping methods can sometimes result in the cards being damaged. When I have bought a number of lower-end cards from them, they stack them between two top loaders, sometimes in soft sleeves but sometimes not. Obviously this is to save money on shipping and supplies, which is necessary for their margins on lower-end cards, but it is just something to keep in mind depending on how much condition matters to you.

Just to add to what Jeff said, their pricing can be a bit out of whack. They have a lot of hard to find inserts and parallels, but they seem to base pricing somewhere in line with Beckett. That means a parallel of some scrub that can easily be found for a buck or less elsewhere is priced at $8.00 and up in their storefront. Granted, they have many older parallels and such available, but I have never been so desperate as to pay $20.00 USD plus shipping for an Alex Tanguay 99/00 BAP Sapphire Parallel xx/100 or $32.00USD plus shipping for an Alex Tanguay Crown Royale Premiere Date xx/73.

I've made purchases in the past using the Beckett Marketplace. They also have an eBay store.

I have noticed that there is sometimes a discrepancy in pricing between the two. Recently I was looking for Willie Mitchell rookies as part of my Devils collection, and came across his 2000-01 OPC card. Their listing for the card on the Beckett Marketplace is $0.40. The same exact card in their eBay store is $0.99. Both have a quantity of 3, so it's the same stock. Keep that in mind if you're buying online.

They have a ton in stock, just from browsing their listings. Almost any time I'm looking for a single, Burbank is a store that has it. I will agree with the previous posts about pricing. You're best off shopping around, because I've found them to be among the more expensive options. You should be able to find many of their items cheaper somewhere else.

If you look at most of their memorabilia cards, they use "stock photos" so you never know what swatch you are gonna get. Seems pointless with patch cards... They have a nice Ryan Miller OPCP triple patch card with all 3 swatches being multicolored. But the description says "stock photo" which kept me away.

I've bought a lot of base cards from them and if you are starting a team collection, I definitely recommend them.

I haven't been to the store in years, but they have an incredible amount of base cards for set builders. They charge way over Beckett price, but they spend a ton of time to sort and organize their cards. Not to mention storing them for years. But if you're a set builder this is a great place to find those elusive last cards. But expect to pay for it!

thanks for all of your feedback. I Also checked his feedback on ebay, and seems to all be very similar. Cards being damaged.
Store looks incredible though! I'd def drop in if I lived anywhere near.

I agree. Haven't seen a cheaper place anywhere especially when we are talking about a team collector that misses thousands of cards and needs to pick hundreds of base cards. As a comparison, Center Ice Collectibles charges (or at least charged) sometimes 20x BV of a card.

I've been in their store and it truly is a collector's dream. Boxes upon boxes of cards. Haven't dealt with them in years though but they have been around for decades and are reputable.
