Question about ITG Action Bergeron RC

Hi,

I bought a 2003-04 ITG Action Patrice Bergeron XRC. The card is numbered 028/750.

The problem is that Beckett says this card is limited to only /299 copies.

So, is my card a parallel, even though Beckett says there is no parallel for this card.

Any help would be appreciate. Thanks!

There were 750 redemption cards, but only 299 were redeemed. The remainder were presumably destroyed. The actual print runs for each card in the set are varied, but generally between 250-350 copies of each were issued.

the remainder of them were destroyed. i pulled a marc andre-fleury redemption a few weeks ago. and the message i got from ITG customer service was.. any unclaimed ones were redemptions.. i would highly suggest staying away from buying any of this product un opened as most of the good cards were redemptions and they cant be claimed now..

I would think that it is normal for redemption programs to have an expiry date. This product is now seven years old. I would assume that the price of the boxes reflects that fact that the redemption is over.

i do agree. it is very normal for redemptions to end 2-3 years later. im not sure if 50 dollars for a box really reflects that the redemptions are over. but it does say they (the redemptions) end on the back of the box in the small print. lesson learned for me

I can't comment on the price of the box, I didn't think they were that expensive when they were released in 2004. ITG Action was our base brand at the time.

Perhaps my memory is failing me.

If this is the same product that I'm thinking of, my local shoppes carry it for roughly $20US a box.

I can get and sell Action boxes for about $35CAD...if you ignore the redemptions, the jerseys still go well and can grab some decent coin

Those prices seem more appropriate for a base product that is seven years old and the redemptions have expired.

Can you imagine the posts if I kept redeeming the cards and those who got their cards in before the expiry date saw more and more cards redeemed.

On that note - the questions asked have been answered. The deadline for redemptions if I remember correctly was January 31, 2004. I should know, since I redeemed an entire set of them. As Dr. Price mentioned, it's incredibly unfair to expect a redemption to be accepted 7 years after the original deadline.
