question about McDavid unslabbing

I have a McDavid SP Authentic Future Watch PSA 9. For long time value, should I get it un-slabbed and keep it raw or should I just keep it slabbed at a 9?

Guess that would depend on how or if you are going to display it. Personally I would keep it slabbed unless I had something cool planned to display it

I would just put it into a magnetic holder. Nothing special

For newer cards, unless it's a 9.5 or better i prefer unslabbed.

That's just me though.

What about value? Does a PSA 9 equal a ungraded card?

I would keep it slabbed. Anything higher than a BGS or PSA 9 should stay slabbed imo. I think you would see some value in that 9 over a raw copy. Without getting into a debate about graded versus non, I think with 9's and up you have in most cases some peace of mind in the grade/condition itself whereas a raw copy who knows? Besides I've always said that you can't beat the protective qualities of BGS holders. Keep it slabbed.

My two cents:
BGS or PSA 9 copies of the card seem to sell in the $500 range. Raw copies sell in the $600-650 range.

In my opinion, if you're not planning to keep the card then there's limited value in keeping it slabbed. And PSA slabs are easy to bust.

An option would be to keep it slabbed at the moment for the extra protection, and if he decides to sell it later, look at the market at the moment and take a decision.

I'd leave it. From what I've seen this card seems to be condition sensitive. Some are cut oversized and will not fit in a one touch.

I would open it because of the fact I do not like the look of graded cards..i cracked all holders up, do not own a single copy slabbed...but not because of value reasons..

I think all in all most people prefer a "naked" card unslabbed but maybe I am wrong, just my point of view. I love to open a magnetic holder and hold card into light to see some shiny details without any deflection of glass in front..
