Question about pics on cards????

Just wondering if anyone has any idea on this. Does upper deck normally take photos from last season for cards released in 09-10? Some I know are (like winter classic) but for other players are they random years or from 08-09?

idk about players that have been on the same team for years, but i do know the 2010 O'Sullivan cards are pictures from the end of last year with the oilers. just know based on the stick he is using haha. i have actually wondered this myself also

I'm actually trying to match up a jersey of Franzen I bought so I wasn't sure if I was wasting my time. Pretty sure most are newer pics but didn't know if anyone knew for sure..Thanks for the input.
