Thinking about picking up a couple of various ones, but I have yet to see one in person.Just curious to know if they are really as impressive as evryone says, not just due to their low numbering.

Any input would be welcomed.

Thanks,Nikki

I think they're garbage personally, since a lot of them are miscut and so on. Definitely overrated....Last years were nicer since the had player photo's on them, however then they ran into the issue of not having enough room for the letter. But the whole miscut issue absolutely ruins them for me this year....

I'm with Rob here.

Seriously over-rated. They are definitely nice but last years are 10x more visually appealing.

I wouldn't get caught up in all the hype about them. Infact, if you can find last years go for those! Here's a picture of last years:

Sure you don't get the whole letter but lets be honest... they are 10 times better looking then this years dull design.

Edit: Although, as Chris mentions, some teams are nicer then others. That Forsberg one is definitely sharp but that Fernandez one is yucky

I disagree. I'd rather have the letter. Look at all the people trying to spell the names, or make creative words out of the cards. It wouldn't look as nice with a big player picture on it. I think they could've replaced the team logo with a small picture of the player. But last year's design was absolutely horrible for the theme they were going for. The SPezza was split between the S and P and had 2 letters.

I guess its just different strokes for different folks.

If I'm looking at the card as a whole for my Vinny collection I'd much rather have last years design (he wasn't in it, but you know what I mean).

I don't need a whole letter to be happy. Heck, we buy jersey cards, stick cards and whatever that have 1/1000th of the actual gamer and we're happy.

Well, when Prucha's are selling between $150-$200 for a card #'d to 50, I'm guessing that a lot of people like the design and idea. Orr and Crosby's are going crazy as well.

It may not be visually appealing to some, but it looks like a lot of collectors are voting yes with their wallets.

I like the Lettermarks... neat concept and something totally different. Don't get me wrong, I like the By the Letters too, just like last years design much better.

Let's just hope this does not turn into a baseball By the Letter fiasco. Where they sell for $30 on average. That'd be a shame.

I'm a huge fan of the By the Letters Cards. I picked up the Jagr and it is right now my favorite Jagr card in my collection. Here's a scan:
