Hi - not a baseball collector but interested in the Jays rookies 19/20 (Bichette etc).
What would be considered a 'true' RC these days for baseball? (ie. the equivalent of a Young Guns for hockey).

Any advice is appreciated.

Rob

It’s a bit of a mixed bag in baseball. It really depends on what you consider a true RC.
Bichette’s first cards in a Jays uniform were in 2016 Bowman Draft but he was still a minor league prospect. Whereas his first non prospect cards after playing in the big leagues would be in 2020 products.

In general, I think Bichette’s YG equivalent would be base Topps, or Heritage maybe?

Topps Series 1/2 and Update are generally considered the flagship product rookie cards, as mentioned above his 1st Bowman was in 2016 but not a RC, baseball is in a league of its own and many disagree or agree with different points...
These would be considered Upper Deck YG flagship RC as a comparison.

Thank you for the information
