Me in 2017: man, there must be a bazillion of these McDavid Young Guns out there. I’ll sell all mine now for 350 and I’ll be laughing at all the suckers in a few years.

Me in 2020: man , McDavid Young Guns raw sell for 600. I wish I had one still.

Ok, so let's check back in with Kubalik, who eliminated the Oilers last night. When we checked in on him 6 days ago, his cards had jumped from $8 to $20 to $20 to $35. Today, we see him being offered for $40 to $60, and he's selling at $40 to...$60. Not sure why someone would buy at $60 when available at $40, but hey, maybe they thought that scan looked really good.

Anyway, a crazy turnaround for a 24 year old rookie. And it might not be over.

That leads us back to the original premise: are the Series 1 2015-16 YGs available in such quantities that only McDavid can break through? Kubalik may be an example of people chasing what's hot, but if Rantanen went on a huge tear, could he balloon to $60? Or are there just too many of them?

So...Nic Aube-Kobel scores twice in the 1st period of tonight's (Aug 8) game. I like Aube-Kobel, but he's not a true prospect. Bottom six guy. But anyway, he scores twice.

Not a single young gun of his sold in the last 4 days.

16 copies sell tonight - all for $2-3, but inventory on eBay rapidly depleting. Opportunist already looking to take advantage as someone lists his YG for $30. Curious what will happen if he completes the hat trick.

It's madness, but damn it is exciting.
