Hello to all the collectors out there, many of you don't know who I am, I secretly surfed the site and kept my identity private.

My name is Barry Sicherman a former employee of Upperdeck as of today 7/14/09. Many of you know me as the resident Hockey Expert in customer service.

Now I know there are some people that don't like me and that's ok, I can't expect to be loved by everybody due to the fact I was put in charge of taking care of all of our Hockey collectors mind you not a small task.

I will let you know that I did everything in my power to help everybody the best of my ability and it's a shame that I no longer will be able to do so. I just wanted to put a post letting you know that it was truly a pleasure working with all of you in the past and present and I wish everybody nothing but the best. Talk to you all soon...

What happended to you? why did you get cut? You were on of the few people that cared about us. Good luck were ever you end up:beer:

I can't say that I personally ever had any issue - I dealt with you once and was treated very fairly - it was appreciated greatly.

If you are no longer with UD I hope it was of your own doing and that you have moved on to bigger and better things. I also hope you will stick around and give your input from a vantage point that few can share.

Best of luck to ya!

Barry,

Thanks for all your efforts at Upper Deck.

If you need a reference, or if I can help in any way, let me know via PM.

Best,

Michael Gallina

Hi Barry and welcome to the site officially. You were the go-to-guy for many of us collectors and I definitely appreciated your prompt replies to my emails and feel you always did your best to take care of our concerns. Further details regarding your former UD Customer Service Rep status would be most welcome on this board. Any advice as to who we should contact with our concerns from this point forward? Good luck with where your future path takes you!

Do the undocumented workers who assemble the jersey cards sleep in the warehouse or do they go home after each day? ;)

THANKS Barry for your services at UD. I found you very easy to deal with on the few occassions i needed your services. Best of luck to you in your future endevours.

Hey!!

Hopefully you have not been debriefed and can shed some light on the wonderful UD mysteries of our time.

I too have had only a few passes of your company, but you were always helpful to the extent that you could.

Welcome aboard!!!

I know the few times I dealt with Barry he came through for me.

It can't be easy working there. Seems like the left hand has no idea that the right hand got chopped off a long time ago. Too bad about your job. Whatever the circumstances, hopefully you land well on your feet.

EDIT - won't Tricky **** get upset that you're posting here as a former employee? He seems to be someone who would have his bases covered with former employees.

Barry, let me join the others in giving you an official warm welcome to the site. I always enjoyed our "conversations" and found you to be someone who cared about what I, as a customer, had to say. Best of luck with your future endeavours. (Kick your feet up & enjoy yourself before you start working too hard again.) :D

Hi Barry, we only ever spoke on social terms/beers/etc so I never dealt with you for cards. That said, I really enjoyed shooting the breeze with ya, and hopefully everything works out for the best for you.

Either way, your post is well written ;)

Glenn

Hi Karvin, good to see you swing by too ;)

Great!!! The last and only competant person left at Upper Deck let go. God help us all. I am gonna hate to see what redemption replacements will be like. Welcome Barry.

Hi Barry, also warm Thank You from European collector, who dealt with You once, and recieved excellent customer service!
Good luck with Your future plans! With Your attitude towards customers, there are millions of opportunities out there!
Best regards
Marko, Finland

Sorry to hear Barry. I know when I had issues with my Phaneuf 05-06 SPA Future Watch rookie, you helped me out with my problem and you actually called me back which I did not expect in the least. Hope to see you around here now!!

Wow big news, while I can't say anything good about my experience with UD CS while you were there I do wish you all the best.

no wonder, i have called UD yesterday, they told me to call them back on wednesday, that their system is down, i decided to call them today in hope their system is up and running, and they told me to call them on thursday, and now i know what system is down, barry is out :(
would be nice if he can tell us what is really going on behind the scenes. i have been waiting for my detroit frozen foursomes for past three months shipped since 4/28/09 and am still waiting. paid a lot of money for it. where is my card :D , either got stolen or stolen :) , i would say never shipped.

This is just great:| Now I know why he hasn't returned my emails regarding my unresolved redemption issues. Now I feel completely lost, who should I speak to to pick up where he left off?

Otherwise, welcome Barry, I hope you stick around here and tell us just what the heck is going on there.

-Sean

I, also have 2 redemption cards, which were supposed shipped 04-29, and still not received- I sent e-mails for informations, and naturally no answers

Sorry to hear that Barry. You were a pleasure to deal with on the two redemption problems I had. Also enjoyed jawing with you at a Expo post day Arizona excursion with you . Hope you land solidly on your feet and that we see some posts with your unique insight into the Upper Deck world on this site in the very near future. All the very best to you and yours. -Mike
