Rank the potentially amazing 13/14 RC class

Both might not make the team but if they do, how well will Ryan Murray and Boone Jenner cards do? I'm assuming playing for Columbus and with Murray being a defensemen and Jenner most likely being a 3rd/4th liner to start will hurt their value?? Then again, Murray was a 2nd overall pick so maybe not??

Would I be too biased of a Stars fan if I had mentioned Alex Chiasson? ;-)

I know, I know...let the "who-birds" come out in full force. Hey, the kid had 7 points (6 goals) in 8 games last season before getting hurt.

Three words: Calgary First-Rounder. In the last 20 years, they have maybe three picks whose names aren't synonymous with "disappointing" or "never was". You have to go back to 1990 to find a genuinely talented player - and that's Trevor Kidd, Mr. First-Shot-On-Goal-Goes-In himself.

Their track record with young talent, particularly first round talent is abysmal. If Monahan becomes anything, it won't be with Calgary. This is not an indictment of Monahan - it's a condemnation of Calgary's development and scouting.

You don't know much about the Flames recent drafting. What was going on with a team 20+ years ago has little to do with what's going on now.

In the last few drafts they've drafted: Baertschi, Brodie, Backlund, Erixon, Gadreau, etc...

Their prospect pool has gone from dead last to respectable.

Everyone missed Filip Forsberg.

On potential alone, he gets in that top 20, especially with Seth Jones in town, Nashville will now have some eyes on them.

For me,the hot rookies this year will be Antoine Roussel,Alex Chaisson and the big Russian Nichu. So bring them on.

What does everyone think of Grigorenko? I'm debating starting a new PC, being a Sabres fan he's got some consideration, but his ITG stuff doesn't sell all that well and seems like people are just listing it over and over with super high prices.

I honestly think that Galchenyuk will be the one who sells the best. Being a fan favorite, and the highest draft player since Price, his rookies will sell like crazy! Even more than Subban RC's I think.

MacKinnon and Drouin should be in the top 5 too.

I personnally wouldn't touch it but that may be just me. I think he will never become a big player in the league.

I would think if this post went head to head with Quincy's post you would lose that argument...just sayin!

Not a big fan of Grigs, I just don't see him ever turning into the great player the Sabres expect him to be. I think he'll be a good player a couple of years down the road, maybe a 2nd line center, possibly a 1st.

I agree. Galchenyuk will likely be #1 and Gallagher somewhere mixed with Yakupov/Hubderdeau/Mackinnon
