Rantanen - Buy or Sell?

I remember being so stoked to get a 5 chunk for his YGs since there are presumably millions of them out there...
Now I don’t have any and I want one.

This sounds like more of a stockwatch thread than a hockey card thread. What ever happened to buying for the love of collecting?

If you're into this hobby for profit, then short term speculation on prices are anyone's guess. The guy could get injured tomorrow or he could set a scoring record. Either way, if you can sell something for more than you paid for it, then taking profits is never a bad thing. I would stick to owning cards for the long term and buying what you love - far more pleasurable.
 
I've been cherry picking cheap stuff locally, I think I've purchased 3 of them for $1 a piece and one of them is a BGS 9.5 now.

I was picking his stuff up rapidly in his rookie year and sending it to Gene (blueknight91) for his Rantanen PC and I assume those things have skyrocketed in value as I think I got some decent ones from my LCS (SPGU Patch, Rookie Breakouts, Exquisite Rookie Auto, etc.)

I was thinking of taking my extras and selling them as a lot now. Have a few extra YGs, extra champs jerseys, etc.
