With the Raptors NBA championship win last night (WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!), my question is, will this bump up or down Leafs cards.

Will the Raptors win lead to values of Matthews, Marner, etc to go up since they are a young team on a cusp of doing something great as well?

Or will the Raptors win lead to values to go down, since everyone is focused on the Raptors now?

I am not sure in general what it may or may not do to Maple Leaf cards on eBay etc, but I have to think this will drive more people to the sports card expo and expand the selection/interest of basketball cards. In turn that should make for better sales at those type of events.

First off, that game last night was awesome. So glad the Raptors were able to bring a championship home. I even might go to the parade on Monday!

I think overall it could create more hardcore sports fan, which is great. That newfound interest in sports can definitely spill of into the hobby for sure.

I could totally see those same new fans jumping on the same bandwagon if/when the Maple Leafs go on a run (or at least win a round to generate more buzz) in the next year to keep the Toronto sports hype train going soon after the Raptors title. Toronto sports can bring a lot of people together, inside and outside the hobby.

So I think with the Raptors winning it can generate a new hobby interest in some people, which is awesome, and I definitely feel it can make Maple Leafs cards a little more sought after if the Leafs can get hot and go on a run of their own next season, making that hobby/team bandwagon that much bigger.
