Looks fake to me...im not 100% but i think it was after 2002 when the NHL changed their logo ftom black/orange to black/silver?. As well the stitching looks off.

I would firstly say
If you have to ask, probably best to stay away.

But that patch looks cheap. Like one you would find on a hat. Authentic patches are much nicer, legible, with way better, tighter stitching.
Wasn't the NHL logo a different color back then?

The old orange NHL logo went from top left to bottom right, The silver version (debuted in 2005) goes up from bottom left to top right. This is a logo that never existed, silver that goes done to the right. Can't be anything but fake

Them patches used the CHEST logo.

Here is Lemieux orange NHL logo pre 2005, and here's the new design, after 2005, from Zetterberg, silver for comparison. Yzerman looks fake. -Mike

That Zetterberg design was from the RBK Edge jerseys of 2007-2016. There was a different shield design for at least a couple of years before that:

The Silver NHL shield was on the jerseys starting in 98-99 IIRC until the end of 05-06. But Q's right - about as fake as a three dollar bill - back then they would've used the winged wheel from the front - they were specific on those cards to be the front logo, name or number

The NHL logo switched from orange to silver for the 1999-00 season. That logo with the "NHL" going from the top left side down to the bottom right were used up until 2003-04. After the lockout the NHL changed the logo to go from the bottom left corner to the top right corner.... The Ribeiro posted above came from a gamer used during the 05-06 or 06-07 season prior to the switch to the reebok edge jerseys. The Zetterberg above has the shield used for the most part on the edge jerseys. A few teams had a different NHL shield with an almost felt like feel to it the past couple seasons... and now there is the metallic MHL shield on the Addidas jerseys....

Definitely fake. Which is really to bad, i loved that patch set, sad to see one ruined.
