first off,a Happy Healthy New Year to all!i emphasize Healthy,as it's been a pretty rough going in '06 for my family,and i know it's been the same for some other members here as well.our hobbies become insignificant in the scheme of things when you or a loved one's health is in jeopardy.that said,i have been sporadically buying some wax boxes and packs,although the '07 product is leaving alot to be desired in terms of innovation and design.i do like the look of Powerplay this year,especially the base cards.here are some game used pulls from that set:
as for Upper Deck 1 this year,i have been snake bitten to say the least.i haven't pulled one single rookie that actually booked over a common yet.and i'm about 4 hobby boxes into it:
i did have the good fortune of finding a new card shop that had some decent back stock.i don't know about other areas,but NJ is sorely lacking in ANY decent card shows.i haven't been to a good show in over two years now,and thats what i like most about this hobby,the search and experiences with other collectors along the way.here are some pulls from my new fave card shop:
heres the results from my ITG Prospects break,from said shop:
i like the Mueller piece,but i have no idea who Drazenovic is,despite being a killer swatch.
here is the better stuff pulled from an Artifacts box and packs break,the Neely is an odd swatch,don't recall him playing for the Jets.probably from the Old Timers game???

lastly,i ripped a strange box of Hot Prospects a week ago.there were no common or auto'd rookies in the entire box.just these 4 game used:
i was happy with those players,but there was also this in the bottom right pack:
i'll take that any day over common or auto'd rc's!unfortunately,there is a nice healthy flake on the upper left corner
,typical UD QC.i'm leary sending it in for replacement,as they still have to honor 6 auto'd redemptions from 1 year and 10 months ago!!!BTW,all of these goodies are available.really looking for Bee Hive 5x7 auto's,as i'm making serious headway on that set.Have a Happy!!
