Howdy, all! :D

Been a bit crazy around work over the past couple weeks, but finally got a couple days off, so I figured I would take a few minutes to post some recent mail...definitely a few of my favorite (and most productive) mail days that I've had in a while! :D There's a few other pieces that I was hoping to be able to include today, but they are still en-route, so I'll add those when they arrive. :)


First up...After a small marathon of PM's, lol :p, I was able to strike my first-ever trade with Rob (TanguayFan)...Thanks again, Rob! :)...

Next up...I came across some fellas over on the BMB a couple weeks back (showcasesports), and darn-near fell outta my chair when browsing their website! :eek: A few emails were exchanged, a deal was haggled, and within the week, a package arrived that included not 1, but 2 of my biggest Cup whales! :D ...

Man, I thought that I'd never touch one of these things! :eek: This definitely made me feel a bit better, after letting go of the only other Orr auto that I ever had several weeks back! :)

I had been haggling on this card when the Score Orr auto deal came up...I wrestled with which one I liked more, but figured since these were the first copies of either card that I had seen in a very long time, I'd go ahead and deal for 'em both. :)

Does anyone have any advice on storing the mini? It would be ideal, if there were a one-touch or screw down with a smaller recessed area, but I'm not sure that they exist? For now, I just have it in a standard penny sleeve and toploader (just scanned it within the one-touch 'cause I thought it looked nice). Thanks for any input!

Amazing stuff all around! Glad to see you were finally able to land a Wolski for your Cup project and that Orr is a timeless treasure. Thanks for sharing, Joshua!
 
I'll trade you a 5,000 Ct. box of Score Base cards for that one Auto.:eek: :p Congrats on finally landing that baby. Also, How 'bout the Patch swatches on those Muthas? The colors are burning my eyes. Time to put on the shades.:cool: Mike

Jeff-Yeah, it was kinda funny...I had been looking for one all this time, and whammo!...they had 3 of them on their site (all with a similar patch scheme)! :eek: I'll probably look to swap it out for a nice logo piece like yours sometime down the road, but we'll see what comes along.

Mike-I'm afraid I would have to ask a bit more for this one...add in a box of Pro Set? Or better yet...ya got any 91/92 Wild Card basketball? :rolleyes: :p
 
Hey Josh very nice pickups. Because I hunted every one of those down I can appreciate how difficult it is to find a nice montoya (and prucha!) The Foy and Steen are amazing as well! Good job man.

Hey Vin :D Yeah, it's definitely been a long road, especially with ebay being out of the equation. I've got 3clr Woywitka and Perezhogin pieces coming in soon, and that will finally wrap up the multi-color /199 set (minus the Whitney and Kostitsyn). Then I'll just have to track down 6 or 7 upgrades (Prucha obviously being at the top of the list :cool: ), and the 3+ color project that I set out for will finally be put to bed! :)
 
Some awesome CUP additions! I LOVE the Steen... you almost never see a Leaf patch card that nice. Sick stiching and breaks in the patch! Man all the patches are sweet... thats one hell of a project you got going on.

Oh and the finale was a peach :) I'm a ****er for anything Bobby. Nice pickups!
 
Nice pickups, Joshua. Those Score Autos are vastly underrated. There are a bunch of suspicious unnumbered copies floating around, so it's great you got the real deal. That Meszaros is also quite eye appealing. :)
 
Hey Ern and Jay! Thanks for the posts. :D

Ern-I'm kinda torn on which Steen to keep in the set...the Leafs patch, or the orange/black/white All-Star patch. I'm leaning towards the Leafs patch, but I may post a poll thread to see what the masses think. :) Oh, and if ya read this...I added another bit of mail to the original post today! :D

Jay-Thanks for the heads-up about the un-numbered copies. How are they marketing them...as factory replacements?
