Here is a redemption card I sent in last June 07.
6/26/2007 PETER STASTNY
2006-07 SWEET SHOT HOCKEY SIGNATURE STICKS # TO 15 CD# ST-PS Athlete committed to signing soon, please be patient. 6/26/2007
I don't mind waiting and in fact I've waited 1 1/2 years before for another Peter Stastny autograph #'d/5. So I sent an email to Barry at UD Customer Service and of course you can never get a straight answer.
Here is what I asked:
I'm just wondering about the status of this card because now it is over 6 months and UD has been saying it has been redeeming their cards within 45 days. Obviously Peter Stastny signs alot for UD and has many autograph cards being released for the 07-08 products.
I'm curious because 07-08 preliminary checklists show Peter Stastny to have another Signature Stick autograph being released in the 07-08 Sweet Shot and want to know if this will affect the 06-07 redemption for almost the same card.
I'm a huge player collector of both Peter and Paul Stastny autograph cards and I really don't want replacements if this card is to be made. I know there are hold ups in regards to getting players to sign but this card isn't even listed on the UD 06-07 Sweet Shot checklist or on Beckett's checklist. Has the card been produced and are you just waiting on the signature? I've seen at least three redemption cards (including mine) for this item.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
and in response this is what I receive:
Hello Larry, I am going to be honest, I have nothing definitive to give you as to when Mr. Statsny will be signing your redemption. The only thing I do know at this point is I can really offer you 2 options.
The first is you can sit and continue to wait patiently and I am not going to lie I truly do appreciate.
The second option would be for you is to get a replacement. What we do when we replace cards is we go by the Beckett comparable value of the card. I ask to submit a list of several athletes and teams. Please keep in mind that we do use expired redemptions so you could be receiving something from 05/06, 04/05 etc. I myself do not fulfill these but I try and do everything I can to keep the customer happy. The entire turnaround on the replacement process is about 4 weeks.
I hope this info helps somewhat and I hope you have a great day.
Thank You.

Now, I am grateful for the response BUT all I want to know is if the actual card was being produced. As I stated I've seen a total of three redemption cards for this but the actual card is not listed on the UD checklist nor that "other" site's checklist. I'll wait forever for the signature to be obtained. I sent another email just asking if the card was made and are they "just" waiting for the autograph and of course that went unanswered. This is just another example of making it hard on collectors. It makes me wonder just who is "informed" and who is not. He's just addressing a simple autograph question in his response instead of specifically addressing the making of this card. Oh, well. Hurry up and wait! :dizzy:
