I believe you are referring to the serial number... you can contact them but I doubt they will do anything about it

Its because they probably made like 50000 of them, and as soon as everyone realizes they won't be getting their gretzky auto ill have to settle for one of those.

the OPC Premiere rookies have been suffering from the same problem. I've randomly stumbled in a few without SN's without actively looking for these errors.

Sigh, another day and more mistakes from UD. You would think getting a card from a $600 box they would at least get it right.

no doubt it was a mistake but the card you received was probably for one with a serial number and was damaged. which would you rather have?

Upper deck did the same to me....They could not fill a redemption!!! I'm sure this has never happened to anyone else!
Sooo...They sent me this!
This one also has no Ser#... But from what i've heard is that UD Keep's a few extras Un Numbered to use as "Damage Replacements" for the same card.
Extra copies un-numberd as little as 3 and upto 25!!
I sent in a Damaged Spx Winning combos Sundin & Belfour...It came back Same Ser#'s But Different Swatches!!
I was told that these "Should not be sent out un Ser#'d!!
Oh ya!! as of today i have still Never seen another one! So to me it's a 1/1!!

I remember there were 1 or 2 Carey Price ICE Premieres /99 that were hand numbered by UD. I'm not sure the reasoning behind it but damn, at the time those cards were selling for close to a grand. Imagine getting one with someone's hand writing on the front?

Well.... guys.. I got a response from Barry and here it is:
"Hello Patrick, Due to the fact your card is un #ed we cannot take it back and restamp it for the fear of having 2 of the same #ed cards in the open market. Having the card un stamped makes it unique and possibly worth more. I hope this information helps, and I hope you have a great day."

yeah...not a chance it increases the value. it is highly unlikely that all of the those would be redeemed before they expire - so why can't they just send you one with a serial #?

Given that this card is supposed to be for a redemption, UD owes you a serial number. In my opinion, this is no different than sending you a damaged card. Unfortunately, you may get more satisfaction out of placing your own head in a toilet and flushing a few times than trying to resolve it with UD.
I've had un-numbered serial cards on my show table before, obtained either from promotional events (unnumbered replacement stock handed out at events) or sent out as replacements, and they have NEVER sold for a premium. Usually, they sell for less, and on occasion, equal to a true copy.

The hand numbered ones were damaged replacements. A member on another board pulled a Price Ice /99 that had some huge scratches on the front, and a hand numbered one is what UD sent back as a replacement. UD said that for the acetate cards, hand numbering is the only option as the serial numbers are laser printed during the printing process.
