Hi everyone,

I've been wanting to make this thread for what feels like a few years now. I'm sure I've tried doing so once or twice but never stuck with it. Sure enough, January 1st is around the corner, which means its the perfect time to lie to myself and believe I'll maintain this thread =)

To keep things brief, my collection habits have changed as my main PC's have dried up due to remaining cards being super rare. Because of that, I pivoted toward something I found more fun, which is searching for jersey numbered cards of players and sets I have interested in. This focus opened my horizons to another world of collecting and exposed me to sets across all sports that I never would have discovered otherwise.

Experience has taught me though that I do need to define what a jersey numbered card is though lol. A "Jersey Numbered" card is one whose FIRST HALF of the serial number matches the number the player is depicted wearing on the card itself. An example would be a Wayne Gretzky card number 99/299.

I'm not going to post all jersey numbered cards I own, but I will start it off with some of my best and favorite. I haven't gotten around to scanning my entire collection, so there's still a good amount of jersey numbered cards that aren't featured in either aforementioned platform. As far as the players and sets I focus on, I've become a certifiable looney as there's just too many to list. But I'll just list the main players I try to focus on and a few sets. In general though, to keep things fresh and the wallet stressed, every season I add a player or two that is coming up with the Wings or in the league in general.

Main Players: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Sedin Twins, Kopitar, Rick Nash, Spezza, Barkov, Aho, Filip Forsberg, Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider & Quinton Byfield.

Sets: Any Year & Sports Pacific & Panini Titanium. My favorite being the 2000-01 Pacific Titanium Blue Parallel. Any Year OPC Platinum Seismic Gold. Any Year & Sport Donruss Elite Status & Aspirations (even during the Panini Years).

Great idea for a thread.

Like you, as my list of cards began to dwindle, I looked towards Jersey Numbered cards as a way to unlock another avenue to expand my collection. I have a new found appreciation for them compared to many years ago.

Here's probably the most notable jersey numbered card in my Enroth collection:

I love the older cards like the Kovy Crown Royale rookie, the Spezza/Gretzky dual, the Spezza RPA and the Nash Topps red. It was a nice era to collect. I am fascinated by the low-numbered Pacific rookies. I have a Gaborik Vanguard rookie in my PC. I am a big fan of the design of your Kovy too.

@creasecollector : I LOVE that you got the Jersey Number FWAP! Belongs with no one but you! I went to your site, and that OPC Premier Black nearly crashed my computer. Such an amazing looking card!

@odjickfan : The early 2000's is by far my favorite era of collecting. Just so many players I grew up on with great looking designs. Its funny you talk about the low numbered Pacific rookies. Idk how, but I forgot to post at least one of those as I too try to find the double jersey numbered versions of those Pacific Rookies. *

@trekrun : I'm hoping to one day see a few examples of those cards you found =)

@GabbyGuy : Those are killer pieces! I love BAP UM, so to see jersey numbered pieces from those sets is always a pleasure for me.
