Remember the AUD.....

Well,I recieved some mail upon my return from South Dakota and was pleasently surprised. I knew I had acquired an old post card image of the ole Buffalo Memorial Auditorium but to my amazment when I opened the envelope,the postcard was larger than expected. I was expecting a regular postcard size image but found a larger image closer to 5x7.
Man imagine the framing possiblities with this. I may just go with a general framing with an autograph of Seymour Knox (former owner of SABRES and HHOF.).
As the Aud is coming down soon,every oppurtunity I get downtown I take pictures of the great building.
So what are some of your fond memories of the Auditorium...doesn't have to be hockey related,but don't get "crazy".

The juggler in the wheelchair collecting change before the games
MAYDAY....MAYDAY
Playoffs- 90,91 and 93 against the Habs:|
Lafontaine and Mogilny lighting it up
Hounding players for autos
Harassing Domi before he got on the bus
Blue and Gold:sabres:
Raising of the French Connection banner/Retiring #11
Seeing Gretzky play in person
Malarchuk ..........too many to keep on listing

Bob Nystrom's goal against the Sabres in 1979 -80. The Sabres looked like they were coming back in the series against the eventual cup winners but again Nystrom scored a big goal to secure a game.

In many ways I wish the Aud could still keep standing. But, now its just an eyesore in the way of the waterfront. If I had the cash, I would try to snatch a pair of seats come auction time... but they will be too high for my budget.

The memories will last a lifetime, and the building doesn't need to stand to keep them. The smell is everlasting and can never dissipate from my senses. However, it is still beyond me why they let the building get as bad as it is.

Some of my favorite memories:

- the glass being pushed by fans making huge waves
- orange family section, standing room only, and the smell of smoke in the hallways
- the one or two balloons hanging in the rafters that were the remanence from the circus the weekend before
- the earl of bud
- the 1993 championship game...oops wrong sport
