Well with new products hitting the shelves at record rate I can understand why companies are limiting the time that they are actually making replacement cards available to the public. I have now had two situations that cut the replacement time right off.
When 07/08 BAP came out I purchased two boxes the first week and enjoyed the rip getting some great cards, the problem was that at least 3 of the normal autographs, 1 dual and the rookie /99 had crimping marks across the top. I contacted UD about this and was told to send them back and that they would be replaced. The auto's were low end scrub players, no one to really get worked up over, but the rookie was Tom Gilbert and it was 77/100 his jersey number. The cards were sent and then came back, none were replaced, I got 3 packs of all base as compensation. -----Cards were ripped open, sent out and received back all within the first 6-8 weeks the packs had hit the shelves----
Now I have run into a new situation that echo's that past situation. I ripped a pack of SPGU, too expensive of a gamble for me to rip more. I pulled a Turco dual jersey, B.J Crombeen Rookie 989/999, Sestito Gold Rookie 72/100. Both the Sestito and the Turco have damage to the cards ... the top layer is flaking up or scratched. I thought that I had hit a fantastic pack at the store until I noticed the damage. I called then emailed pictures to the CS rep and was later informed that the cards could not be replaced that they didn't have anything set up to replace anything at all from SPGU.
I'm guessing that this maybe a new trend, no replacing card for card you will get the over stock so they can deplete all the old back stock. I was not happy at all and am seriously considering a move to 100% ITG for hockey and other companies for the other sports. I have been offered complimentary product to compensate me for the damage... im sure my mvp or victory packs will be out next week.:|
