Has been confirmed by RDS - Halak's rights have been traded to St. Louis

Habs get Eller & Schultz - these are 2 prospects for those that dont know.

As well, the Blues made this deal WITHOUT even talking contract with the Halak camp.....LOL

If Halak signs with the Blues, this will stunt the progress of Canadian Hockey League goaltender of the year Jake Allen, who was projected to take the next step to the AHL next season.

If Halak signs with anyone else - they'll be entitled to compensation - which at what he'll command will be 3 to 5 1st Round Picks. Or they can shop him around to the rest of the league and auction him off to the highest bidder at the draft in in about 10 days...

Wow. I am in shock.

Gauthier can even get immediate help for his number one goalie!

They might as well give Halak to the Blues and ask for a song in return...

yea but the blues still arent guaranteed to sign him so why whould they give up something huge for it? or am i wrong ... cuz ive been known to be once ... haha

If the Blues can sign him great trade for them. One thing they have been lacking is a goalie. It would make the central even tougher to play in!

You guys ripping the Habs probably have no idea about Lars Eller.

The guy is a FANTASTIC prospect. He has pretty much all the tools in a center Montreal has been looking for. If he can put it all together it's a great trade. Also factor into it that Halak was not guaranteed to stay in Montreal with the pay increase and him splitting time with Price.

Let's face it, we've seen a million goalies ride a hot streak into the playoffs and falter to nothing later on. Not saying Halak is a dud but there is ABSOLUTELY no way he is as good as he was vs Washington and Pittsburgh or as bad as he was vs Philly.

Anyone that thought he would get a Jeff Carter in return was just delusional. Even Luongo didn't get as good a return as that, and sure as hell Halak wasnt either
