Ron Wilson fired

Seing they gave up on him as a player the Leafs will most likely go with Randy Carlylevto lead them to the promised land.

Its a shame you cant fire your GM as easily as you can your coach.

In a way I dont think you can blame Wilson, although he deserves some credit. He has done well considering what he has to work with.......

I actually think Burke is doing a good job at building a young team with lots of picks and prospects. The leafs are in a much better place than they were when he took over. They are not a cup contending team but did anyone think they would be? I think the future is bright for the Leafs, certainly a lot better than it was 4 years ago. I think his one big mistake was not signing a vet or proven solid goaltender. Burke dumped/flipped a pile of old and over paid players for a bunch of picks and a good young core group of players. Remember the leafs are the 2nd youngest team in the league.

I always get a kick out of people who complain about Burke and what he's done. I'll trade you Burke for Howson and even drive him up there for you if you'd like.

Still comparing apples to apples there. Team them up with Wang and you got yourself a regular old round table crew of masterminds.....

And I thought I was the only one that saw this.

Wilson didn't build a team with bad goalies, horrible defence, and a single line that can score (on a semi-regular basis). That was all Burke.

Not saying Wilson was doing much to fix the problem, but they could have made the change this time last year - and with the same roster they'd be in roughly the same place.

If Burke has another typical offseason (and by typical, I mean typical for him since he joined the Leafs) it will be 5 years under his watch they've missed.

My gawd.....theres no doubt the team and the farm system is MUCH deeper and stronger with Burke there. The Marlies are in first place for gawd sake. Four years ago, we had nothing. NOTHING. Darcy Tucker was signed to a long term deal. Enough said. Wilson was a major part of the problem, glad hes gone finally.

Over/under 3 weeks until the fire Burke chants start. He not terrible, but he's no where near as good as people gave him credit for in Anaheim. Plus, nobody survives in TO.

I knew it was a matter of time before Wilson got fired, I figured we'd at least have to lose to the Habs tomorrow night first.

Anything is deeper than nothing. That doesn't mean the team is exactly 'deep', nor should Burke even take "credit" for that.

You could have put a goat in charge and have gotten the same results...

The leafs are doing better this year, but beyond a couple players I still am not a believer. The whole system and the way it has been built is out of wack.

The Leafs are not the only team in that position the Habs, the Jackets , The Islanders are in the same boat and a few other teams too.

The Leafs are in the exact same position they were at this point last season. 64 games with 65 points. They may look like a better team this year but they really aren't.
