Rookies From This Draft?

Well, we all know Crosby will almost certainly be in the NHL this season. But is there anyone like Patrice Bergeron from this draft (2005) who will sneak into an NHL lineup and contribute? I think it is doubtful, as teams will be more willing to give that AHL guy a shot to fill the fourth line role, and they may discover they can be productive.

Syvret and Roussin are possibilities, but they aren't exactly fresh-faced rookies. Anyone up for idle speculation?

Latendresse from Montreal will sneak in, but not for a couple years. I think he'll be better than a lot of the first rounders.

Crosby's the closest to a sure bet to suit up this year, though Pouliot might make the roster on opening night.

Jack Johnson will be wearing the maize and blue this fall. No doubt about that.

Brule could play in the NHL.

Other than that, nobody else will.

The top 5 all will suit up this year in the NHL as well as 3 others from the first round and one other later pick (no, I'm not going to name who, lol)

I doubt Johnson will be in the NHL, when I got his autograph TTM, he said he had wanted to play at Michigan since he was 13 or 14, he'll be there at least one season. I can see Pouliot, but that's a huge leap after only one year of major junior.

The hockey guys at Michigan...ahem...enjoy themselves. There are....ahem...opportunities....that aren't there when you're in the NHL.

(in case anyone doesn't know what I am talking about, I am referring to the ladies...this comes from someone who spent many nights at the "hockey house" at UM...)
