Rookies Making Their Debut This Summer

Looks like Nick Robertson will be in the Leafs lineup today for the exhibition game and possibly the playoffs.

Will the NHLPA allow a 1 time exception to add these players in early 20/21 releases (like Series 1)?

It wouldn’t be an exception, if they debut in a real game they’re eligible for next years I believe.

Correct, any player who debuts in the playoffs is eligible. That said, does the play-in count? Hard to say for sure. I'd say the exhibition games this week 100% do NOT count, but play-in/round robin, not sure.

I'm assuming playin counts as playoffs for player debuts. Both sides want rookies in next year products!

I'm pretty sure the NHL announced that the play-in games would count towards playoff statistics (even though they've constantly reminded they aren't the playoffs ) so I would assume those count.
