Rumor: Burke to join Flames organization

As per tsn and various other reports from last night, it appears Burke will be joining the Flames organization in some capacity. Doubtful to be GM, but will be interesting to see what role he takes on.

Yes, but Burke may not be what's up today. Kiprusoff is also in town so it could be a formal retirement announcement today and not Burke...

Flames have lots to do before the season. Announce kipper, possibly name a new hockey ops or head office guy ( Burke?) and they still have to name a captain. IF Burke is hired today, it won't be long till he also takes over for Feaster. Feaster will basically be the sacrificial lamb. Gm's who trade franchise guys don't tend to stick around too long after. Guess we will see soon enough.

The Flamingos have traded away 3 of their best 5 players, and if Kipper retires today, that means Cammalleri will have to do it all himself.

It will be wonderful for me to watch.

I think Feaster and Burke are buddies, so I think it's more likely that Jay helped/is helping to recruit Burke and I don't think his job is in jeopardy.

Of course "being buddies" didn't work out for Burke with Nonis in Toronto and Vancouver, so who knows.

Burke can at least be enough of a distraction so the attention will be on him and not on how terrible the Falmes will be this season.
