I saw the video on ESPN, yes they still show hockey highlights, and Id say at least 6 games is warranted. Im not sure if the fan said anything, but the video clearly shows a wild fan simply standing and applauding (no obscene gestures or anything).

Rypien is very lucky something more serious didnt happen.

It was so insane for him just to grab that fan. He didn't do anything to warrant a reaction like that. If that happened to me I would like some sort of apology from him or the organization and maybe ask the Canucks to purchase me some tickets to some of the Wild's games.

The Wild are also at fault here too for not providing adequate security to prevent something like this from happening. In many buildings, whenever someone is going off, the canopy is brought out to cover and shield them no matter what the reason.

Gary Bettman already personally called the flee bag, offered him dinner and tickets to another game. Yet, he still plans to sue.

What Rypien did was wrong, and he has been disciplined for it. What the fan plans on doing is just pathetic (yet almost expected). I HATE people who want things for nothing, like this loser. Sadly, the US judicial system has created this problem by allowing frivalous lawsuits for a long time. If a lawyer stands to make a buck, there is no bad lawsuit.

Yes, I am a Vancouver fan, but I'd be equally pissed if this happened involving any team or player.

I saw this and I think he should be gone for 15-20 games. He had no reason to go after the fan. Your a Pro for god sakes your taught not to react like that

I don't think he has a suit. He was not hurt and suffered no loss. Of course, they will try because thats the American way right? :badmood:

The league will settle out of court to keep its name out of the court system.

If I were them I would make a stipulation that he not ever attend another NHL event for his life, and then give him a small pay day. Nothing happened to you kid. tell your friends about getting grabbed by your collar and leave it at that. Or be happy with watching games from your couch for the rest of your life.
