Well, this is UD we're talking about. Half the time, they don't even know where it's coming from.

Sakic looks like an All-Star jersey to me.

Jon--you're right, it does look like a mid-90's All-Star swatch.

Maybe they mixed up the Joe's and put a Thornton swatch in the Sakic.

I'm going with the a quality control issue on the modano atleast.

UD seems to get 1 in 5 modano patch's correct,

That's an all-star for Sakic. They've used it before. I know there are other examples, but the 00-01 UD Ice jerseys leap most readily to mind.

Modano could be one of those god-awful North America All-Star jerseys. Or one of the "West" jerseys. Not really sure.

The Sakic being an all star JSY is feasible. I have a Cheechoo from SPGU with a Young Star patch -- I just wish they'd say "all star" or "young stars" instead of "official NHL game."

The Modano could be a practice jersey possibly. I know they used orange for a long time and I think they switched to red at some point. Could be wrong, just a guess here.

They did use orange for a bit, not too long. I"ve only been able to snag one from the team sale. They do wear red, black and white in practice now. Of course, I have a dual patch/auto of Modano and Joe Mullen and the green/white and black patch is under Mullens Pens pic and the yellow/black and white is under Mo and it's out of like 15 so that shows you that they need some help on the assembly line. As much as I butted heads with Brian P., when I saw how they put their cards together in person I was very impressed and wished that all of the card cos. took that kind of pride in their work.
