Don't know where the big boys get the grapes to rip box after box of this Ultimate crap, but I laid out my last $100 in fun money from recent eBay sales to try a pack... If I were Q, this mighta made me happy:

Other than that, what UD product would be complete without a freakin' redemption? :mad: Pulled a Lacavalier /78 auto to let languish in UD's redemption department, along with a Lidstrom base /699 and a Brandon Prust (who?!?) RC /699. Another gripe while I'm on the lectern, shouldn't a product this high end have more limited RCs as part of the set???:confused:

Anywho, all is available. Only looking for Howe, Orr, Bourque or Gretzky GU or auto (well, Howe and Bourque have 'em in the range of the Sakic dual anyway) that I can use. Always open to PayPal offers, too.

Funny part is thats actually not that bad of a pack! The patch is solid and the Vinny auto is above average. But I agree with you... you need some major cajones to rip box after box of this stuff.
 
Sir Broon, that dual patch is real a dandy but I agree with you and Ern, UD Ultimate is likely their biggest hit or miss product. They really dropped the ball taking the multi-autos and Endorsed Emblems out this year!:(

A hockey fan would know he was a key cog in the London Knights juggernaught that won the Memorial Cup a few years ago. He'll probably be a 3rd line winger for the Flames next season.

There are autographed rookies numbered to 299 and limited autographed rookies numbered to 99.

If you'd have bought a box of cards with 24 packs in it at the same price point and pulled those same cards from it you'd be happy. All you're missing is 100 or so crappy singles. So why the griping?

Ummmm.... pretty sure I'm still a hockey fan, Ryan, even if I didn't recognize what you call a key cog in the Knights' juggernaut - a player that even you optimistically project to be a 3rd liner in the NHL.

As for the griping, hey, it's my thread... I didn't buy a cruddy $65 or $70 box of cards, hoping for one auto or decent GU. I dropped a C note on a high end single pack of 4 cards and pulled a redemption, a decent patch card and two dud base cards. If it offends you to read I'm not thrilled with the cards, that's unfortunate.
 
Dave - nice patch buddy - I am sure that it will find a new home.

As far as Ultimate - this marks the fist year since 01/02 premier that I have not delved into the boxes. Sorry Ryan - but 3rd line wingers #/699 are EXACTLY what I do not want from $100/pack-$ 375/box high end product.

The Cup gets it right - at $350/Tin, each one contains a Rookie Auto Patch numbered to no higher than #/249 I believe. Even the scrubs (3rd liners-et al) provide PERCEIVED VALUE. Along with another Auto Patch of some kind The Cup will leave no one lacking for nice items. Yiou may not get your $350 back in selling value - but you will most certainly get very close in BV in every break. This years Ultimate has shown that many boxes - much less packs do not provide anywhere near that value.
