It feels like forever since I've done a mail post. Things have been a bit slow recently due to my move home from college. I'm at home in Berkley, now, and only about halfway done unpacking! I'm getting back into the swing of things, though. Here's what's come in over the past couple of weeks.

98-99 Dayton Bombers EBK Trevor Koenig
04-05 Fresno Falcons Mike Kiesman
I picked up these two minor-league cards for my player collections from ebay. They are actually quite important. The Koenig removed a zero-percent from my statistics, and the Kiesman completed his 4-card collection at 100%. I have two zero-percent "collections" remaining, but one Shawn Maltby card is on the way to take care of one of them. The other, Mike Jones, only has one card; I have obviously not yet located it.

I spent card-cash (a.k.a. Paypal) on this item, so I figured that I'd better include it in my post! Believe it or not, this is a very rare, out-of-print CD, which sells regularly on ebay for $40-$50 once shipping is factored in. I found this copy for $27 delivered from an Australian internet mail-order business. It's a nice collectible as a weather nerd and fan of the movie, but let's face it: I bought it for the music. I happen to like Mancina's score quite a bit.

These came from Chris West (hockeyguy2006) in trade. The commons are keepers for my 9-card-sheet project, but it's noteworthy that Chris included some of the biggest names with the Leaf International cards! That was a definite plus to the cards he sent me. The other three are available for trade. Thanks, Chris!

03-04 San Jose Sharks Postcards Nils Ekman
I got this from a person I met on ebay. NHL team postcards are very difficult to locate, so I'm quite glad to have this one. I only need three more cards to complete my Nils Ekman collection; unfortunately, they are nearly-impossible items from the 04-05 Swedish Alfa Stars set.

The final two pictures from this mail post came from a great trader, Risto Kemppainen, from Finland. He used no less than two or three extra sources to help me find some of these difficult European cards. The Martins autograph from this picture is particularly important, since there are no more than 100 copies in existence.

04-05 Jokerit Postcards Tim Thomas (#52!!!)
The second Kuparinen I got from Risto in this mailing is a postcard I didn't even know existed. Obviously, it was a very important addition to my collection!
The next two are additions to my nearly-complete Tim Thomas collection. I decided not to list the team photo postcard as specifically part of Thomas' cards, although it's a nice item to have. The Thomas postcard itself brings my total count up to 52/54. I'm missing only his 02-03 Parkhurst Gold #/10, and of course, the 02-03 BAP All-Star Gold 1/1. Will I ever acquire either of them? Like heck can I answer that

News and notes:
**I will be attending at least one card show next week, and perhaps two if I'm feeling ambitious (and if the first show doesn't burn too big of a hole in my wallet).
**I am closing in on 1,100 cards total for my non-Samsonov player collections. I suppose that's something of a milestone, though it seems a little obtuse to me.
**I'm wondering if the 03-04 BAP Memorabilia Gold 1/1 cards of Samsonov, Weekes, and Bierk, will ever show up. It seems like about half of the 200-card set has seen the light of day...
