Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure if this has been brought up here yet, but based on what I've seen, there's a very easy way to distinguish the regular rookies from the SP rookies outside of the card number on the back. The card stock on which the SPs are printed on are thicker, and lighter ink appears to have been used (unless it's just the way the same ink prints out on the thicker store,) resulting in a bit more of a faded look, especially when placed in light. Place an SP next to a regular rookie and you can definitely tell. The regular rookies almost appear flimsy in comparison to the SP rookies.

or, Matt, as opposed to going through all that, how about you just look for rookies #'d 551 or higher? heck, you hafta look for the french backs, why not look for the high #s too? seems easier to me...

Well yeah I said that too in my post, but some folks just aren't going to take the time to look for french backs. My above post is dedicated to my buddy that busted open 10 hobby boxes who said he wasn't going to go back to look for the French backs because of the amount of time it would take...he also didn't separate his rookies because he didn't realize some of them were SP'd
