Sending to Japan

I have an item on ebay for sale, price about 75 USD. Gentleman with 100% feedback in the 150's is asking for a quote to Japan. Went to the postoffice today. Was told under $7.00 for regular shipping over $80 for anything with tracking.


60+ is usually my threshold for tracking required. any other methods to get a card there with tracking? Any opinions on Japanese postal efficacy?

I sent a couple times over there (sold quite a few cards to a big Lafleur collector out there).

I never sent with tracking, and never had any issue.

I have had zero problems shipping/receiving from Japan. Generally very fast as well in each direction (mostly due to my location being on the coast mind you).

Registered mail to Japan shouldn't be too pricey unless you're in a hurry.

$7 is Light Packet, takes 7-10 days. approx 25$ would be registered oversized, just write on the envelope "paper product only" to make sure it doesn't get rejected for the case it's in seeming hard (and un-paperlike), Xpresspost would cost you 65.50 to Japan. Either way, you shouldn't have a problem sending it if you go Light or Small Packet.
