This is a great follow up to my August mail...please bear with me, as there are a few stories to go along with these pics:
First, I finally picked up the Gordie Howe to complete this 6-card set (I really took a liking to the design of this set)...just a little disappointed that Mario's not in this set:
Next are some random autos...I picked up the Francis and Nash off e-bay (always great to have a hard signed Francis...and have been wanting a Nash patch/auto for some time).
The Sakic and Yzerman are 2 of the ones I kept after I broke up my 00-01 BAP SS auto set.
Anyway, here's a few goodies:
And now for the 3 stars:
3rd star came in a trade with SpeedSkater. He was trying to complete his 00-01 BAP SS auto set, so I gave him the last 25 he needed and he gave me this beauty:
2nd star...well, I've been working on this set for over 3 years, and now I'm only 1 away from completing what will by my biggest hobby accomplishment to date. Most of you have seen what my sig used to look like, but if you havn't, here's the old one:
Well, if you add this:
...it now looks like THIS:
I think it goes without saying that anyone who can lead me to the last one will be rewarded...any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK...now for the 1st star, but first a little story. Back when I busted my first case ever (07 The Cup) I was fortunate enough to pull a Cheechoo Hardward Heroes 1/1. Of course, I wanted to deal it to Lionel, and he happen to have 2 great cards I was interested in, so the deal was made. The first was a Messier Epic Sigs (showed in my August post). The second one was this:
No doubt a great card, but as you can see from my sig, I'm partial to the BAP SS set (this is from Parkhurst...I know, picky, picky). So I contacted someone whom I'd spoken to several months back that would consider a trade if I had something similar for him in return. So, I was able to take the card from L, and trade it for his cousin:
Which goes quite well with his long lost brothers:
