Remember when SP Authentic used to come out at some point between the ASG and the end of the regular season and it wasn't peppered with redemptions?

I recall busting boxes of 2007-08 in April or May that year.

Times have changed. players are making way more money than they used too. Even though they are being paid to sign these cards, they do them when they want.

I agree that players should sign faster, but if they don't then UD has to just cut out of the product their autos.

They have been doing this... Notice this years sign of the times in only 17 cards, but theres like 20 'update' ones from last year... Those are just guys who signed after pack out.

So this year's SOTT cards will be available in 2015/16 - 2025/26 SPA? Good to know. Tough being a set collector today.

Trust me, this is a much better way to do it than leaking them out as redemption replacements like they did back in 2007-08. How many SOTT, Ultimate Signatures, and Sweet Shot autographs leaked out from that year up to two years after release? Around ten Ultimate Signatures and roughly the same amount of Puck Signings, all trickled out as replacements over the span of almost two seasons. And some of them were crazy rare, with a few I've still only seen once to this day.

As a collector of Sweet Shot Puck Signings that year it was a nightmare seeing a new card leak out a year later and you were lucky to see more than two copies of it. I gave up on the set because I would never know for sure if it was complete. Two new ones appeared after I broke up my set (Modano and Koivu) and I never saw them again. That's no way to build a set.

At least this way the "update" cards make it into packs and appear in larger numbers, and you can actually anticipate them by looking at a checklist instead of checking ebay one day and seeing a new auto appear out of nowhere and sell for ridiculous money.

I've yet too see a Charlie Coyle 13-14 Future Watch patch/auto buyback. The 12 other guys that have that buy back have all popped up but no Coyle. Was it inserted is my question now!?
