I have been contacted by a member on another site about buying a $500+++ card. I have never done a transaction with the person myself, but they do have a 191 positive transactions on E-Bay (User ID blackandlowe). What can I do to prevent any sort of Paypal chargeback from the sale????

Here are a few details....

- Both live in Canada
- I will send XpressPost with delivery confirmation

- If he sends with money that is currently in his Paypal account will that help?(ie. no credit cards)
- Any collectors on here from Kingston who may know this buyer?

I asked him to send a money order registered, but he is having none of that.

Prevent, nothing. There are no precautions so effective as to stop a determined idiot.

However:
1) DO NOT use Xpresspost. Use Registered Mail - comparable speed, signature confirmation of delivery, better tracking, and fewer excuses from Canada Post.
2) Insure it appropriately.
3) Once you have your tracking number, enter that with PayPal.

I'll second what Q says.

Registered with the signature advice - that gives you a card back in your own mailbox with their actual signature.

I use that for Europe higher-value shipments and it works well. Bit more expensive but worth it.

It is "safer" to have him send with funds from his Paypal account verus a CC through Paypal correct?

Hi Brad,

Q is right. I would suggest not using the pre-paid Express envelopes, go directly to the post office and send express with them. Absolutely make sure you get signature on delivery.

You should be protected by the seller protection policy against a chargeback (cc company) or claim if you are shipping to a confirmed address.
