Finally found my whale

Finally found mine, got it right here in HI, from re-ac-tor, been chasing this one for 8 years. I can now say I have a completed set of 2001-2002 Topps Archives

In my opinion the first thing about white whales is that if you can tell it exists, it's not a white whale - that is, if someone you know already has one or you could buy one yourself, no matter what's the price, it's not a white whale.

Well based upon your definition my white whale will pass the test which is a Wayne Simmonds/Jarome Iginla Dual Sign of the Times. I have never seen one ANYWHERE. I even asked a few Simmonds collectors if they have ever seen one, and they too have yet to see even one.

This is a white whale for me as it is a /36 Game Gear from 03-04 SP Game Used collection. It completed my after 12 years!

Got to agree with this one. I got McLeod from this set a year ago and I think I have been offered a /5 card like ten times - someone has even claimed (on this board) owning the copy I actually have in my hand so something really doesn't match up. But anyway, I think the Silver Spectrum version is insanely rare.

This is a card I have been looking for for 14 years and was the subject of one of my first posts on these boards! I have finally acquired this white whale which completes my set of 02-03 Premier Patches /25. Never thought it would happen but here is the Selanne card from that set!

I don't think those qualifies as white whales. Yes, expensive cards, yes, beautiful cards, but I really don't think you have been hunting for them for a small eternity.

Again, I am not saying those are bad cards in any way.

Rarity, yes I think those qualifies and if you saw the cards selling for way higher than what you paid for them, then the price too.

Basically yeah. I really have a different idea of what a white whale is, but that is just my opinion. Also my opinion is that, like said, those are very nice cards anyway.

Got this recently
