SID/OVY 1/1 DUAL NHL Shield

Sould be interesting. The seller has good feedback, I think $50,000 is a little crazy but it may help get a high offer. I have seen Lebron and Wade exquisite cards sell in the $30,000+ range so who knows.

Mike...

Crosby, Ovy and Phaneuf all had game-used jerseys for their Cup rookies, so they SHOULD be GAME-USED as stated on the card. Of course, anything that Upper Deck produces is up for speculation...

Huh. I didn't realize that they had GU stuff in The Cup last year. I guess you learn something new every day.....

I say 30K would be about right. Nice card tho'. Be interesting to see if anybody we know makes a run for it. I could see Stephen or LogoPatchCards givin' it a go.

Anything over $4K is retarded for that card. His asking price is a literal order of magnitude higher than a realistic price.

Very sweet card... very overpriced. Since the Roy/Brodeur auto and Gretzky/Lemieux both sold over 10k, i think this card is worth 6-10k. I think anthing under 6 would be a great deal, and anything over 10 would be overpaying. I have a feeling someone will be overpaying up their  though. Theres always that one guy thats like 10 or 20k off.

The guys probably not asking $50K just put a crazy BIN to try and persuade higher offers.

I bet you he accepts something in the $5K-10K range.

Quick correction,... the Phaneuf #/99 is PHOTO SHOOT,... the AO & SC are GU

And I did make a very solid offer for the card. Quincy thinks I am 2.5x+ STUPID then,... :p

Well - those two brought me back to watching hockey and this hobby. To me, that's priceless and having both their RC GU NHL Logos is really neat. So it's the perfect storm for me,... we'll see what happens.

As for Mark B., he doesn't collect anything that is not #1/1 Shield WITH AN AUTOGRAPH,... the card is just not good enough for him to bid on and thus, is leftover for me.

Quick question for all of you,... I have a AO & SC for my Cup Master set (BGS 9 that was broken out of the case AO and the SC is the one I pulled at the Expo (sentimental value!). And I plan to get it framed when the set is complete with enough nice patches for each of the cards - will be a while. But the Crosby will stay and not be upgraded because of sentimental value and all the witnesses and my first Toronto Expo. And the Ovechkin is as good as they come to me.

However, that leaves me hanging with a BGS 9.5 Crosby and BGS 9.5 Ovechkin #/99 AU RC Patch from the Cup,... what would your trade look like for this Corsby/Ovechkin Dual Shield? Just curious,...

I was doing so well staying away from the boards until this card popped up. I'll be back in a week's time. :)

BTW, the guy who was selling the Spezza/Heatley Dual Shield,... he counteroffered with $3K,... I politely declined.

I love how he states that this is the best card of all time LOL

HAHA,... everyone has the best card of all time when they're trying to sell,... LOL

* Update: Well - the seller hasn't e-mailed me back and I was getting impatient with waiting for scans and a response to see what he's looking for - so I've put myself out of the hunt. I would be shocked to see someone offer more for it than $10500, but we'll see,... I think $8100 rejection on a best offer so quickly is INSANE!!!

$50,000... that's more then my familys 3 cars worth! -.-'

I would never pay that sum even if I got it in hand, could have done sooo much other stuff for that money.. But there's sure some investors willing to cash out...

$50l is insane... but like previously mentioned, the Lemieux/Gretzky dual shield went for $11k. A few months back, Beckett labelled this Crosby/Ovechkin as the greatest single. I was thinking when this card surfaced, it would go for $15k or a little more. We'll see what happens...

Wow, what a crazzee card.

I mean,...jeepers.

50K does seem way too steep. Logic says even the 30K people have reportedly seen for other interesting 1/1's is out of hand. I could buy a nice car or pay off a hunk of debt. Squat it could even buy a whole slew of cases to bust! Thats just me though. Hey if you got 30,000 or so bones laying around then by all means go ahead and buy the 'Greatest Card EVER Made!' (as claimed by the seller)!

Hardy he he he! :D

USJ

guess your right, a card like that will probably always be listed if you made a ranking with the say 50 greatest hockeycards ever- even if the future brings several crosbys in the next 50 years or so. But I guess the hype sets the price and cards like this will only be this valuable as long as crosbys regarded as a prospect ten years from now someone would probably be willing to trade this for a patch/au rc of that years super rookie
