Happy New years to everyone.
I have had a few harder to find Labarbera cards come in recently.
1. 98-99 Bowman CHL Jason Labarbera Gold Auto. This is the second one I have ever seen. A few months ago I posted my purchase of the first one. Honestly I never thought I would find 1. Let alone 2 in the last few months. Not to mention after like 15 years.
2. 05-06 ITG Nameplate Jason LaBarbera #/20. I love picking these up since they are basically the only nameplate patches available for him. I might be a tad OCD since I also own like 10 copies..lol I am very frustrated to pick this card up for about $20 shipped. Yet someone on Ebay right now wants almost $200 for theirs..lol. Oh wells... to each their own I guess.
Now the really special part about today, besides being New years eve.
I want to give a HUGE shout out to Tim (TurcoCollector3)!!
He was wonderful enough to think of me and pass on some information regarding Labarbera jerseys.
I was aware of the Meigray holiday sale but it wasnt really very good for me. Their Labarbera jerseys are newer and still priced a bit outta my reach.
Hoooowwwweevvveerrr ... amazing Tim let me know about The Detroit Hockey Company holiday sale! :whatthehell: that I would have other wise missed. I cant tell you how bad I would have been kicking myself if I had passed it by.
After a few PM's and an email I was updated and reached out to contact The Detroit Hockey Company. After a day or so due to holidays I was contacted back by Brian.
Great guy, answered all my novice questions, replied promptly, excellent customer service. Within a day basically worked a deal with their Holiday special (on select teams) and was able to get 2 game use Labarbera jerseys for less then the price of 1 from other companies. Totally recommend them if you are new to actual game used items and want to take the plunge.
Sooo... without more of my rambling here are my 2 Labarbera jerseys. I got a home and away. They show some mild wear with some random markings. Was thinking of getting the alternate also at first, but I know I will have to save some monies for his Ducks jerseys that should be coming out soon.
Since Labarbera isnt in sets as much anymore I guess I will have to start collecting the whole jersey..lol
Thanks again Tim, had you not contacted me i would have missed out on this and the experience. Great way to end the year and really nice to start it with.
