Ya I'm not spending money on cards I cant hold in my hands. I am sure Topps is making decent coin with this and dont see them wanting to get a license to print cards, if they are making enough from this.
 
The free coins worked for me. I am not putting any money in to this but I am finding it fun. Looking at some collections. some people have dropped some decent money into this.
 
yea i love it. I'm not spending any money and having just as much fun. love trying to trade with others and doing card exchange to get different colours.

So I've read through this thread and I saw how Topps previously said no to hockey cards when courted by the NHLPA. As I see more and more inserts and sets being released into the app (some look friggen cool), the live signings by Giroux, all the time invested into the set concepts and photography, I can't see them saying no in the next bid.

That being said - when does the current exclusive expire? How soon would they announce something like this?

I would like to know the length of the contract too, I know this is year 3 of the exclusive.
 
any guys who PC a non-star player, they added a series 2 base to this today so your guy might have cards in it now

Stajan is on there, he has a base card with all the respective colors, and he also has a "Hockey Hugs" insert. You'll never get a physical copy of them but in case you want something to chase, they are there.


PS - Stempniak & Clutterbuck are both on there, so if anyone gets any, no matter what color, feel free to send them to geschrocks33

Has anyone tried using the like social feed for trading? Decided to start trying to do it now that all 3 of my PC guys are on there, and it is about 10 times worse than trading on ePack with moronic people.
 
So what do you guys spend your coins on? Insert packs? Base packs? I've been using them on purple packs but I'm wondering if I should be switching to insert packs or something instead.
 
I buy the weekly booster packs cuz they're cheap (2,495) and I usually hit an insert after 10-15 packs, which I trade for other inserts I might want. And then I use all them base cards in the exchange to try to build up my reds and blues.............

Also, regarding everyone's PC's, do you "add" it to your collection? Or just use it as a time waster only?

Enroth isn't featured in the base set yet (only Gibson and Bernier for the Ducks and Andersen for the Leafs), base 2 has just recently been released.

It's the first season of Skate, so I'm not sure if they release a base 3 series after trade deadline, but if he would get relevant he'll probably get a card (maybe as well for the playoff release), as many backups have cards (at least for base set).

You can just download the app and you can see all releases in the card sheet (new trade) to get an idea of the base and the insert design (or just check on eBay for TOPPS Skate, several thousands of cards are listed).

As for my PC I've a different theme, I collect McDavid, Crosby and Avs on Skate. For real live I just stick with the Avs due to budget reasons :D

I went into the fan feed to try trading and it's definitely the way to go I think. In the last couple of days alone I've pounded out about 30 trades, I got all the way up to a gold MacKinnon and I'm working on a gold Matthews now. I'm up to a silver on him after starting the day yesterday with a teal as my highest.

If you're after certain players more than making sets its pretty easy to stockpile tons of lower tier parallels and exchange them up.

Don't get me wrong, it's definitely effective. I've busted out quite a bit of combining to work up to some higher level Stastny's on there, but the people on there are brutal when it comes to reading what you post. Guess it's just like any other trading avenue, a lot of morons mixed in that you have to weed out
 
Maybe I'll give this a go at some point.

I messed around with the Star Wars Card Trader last summer (I was very late to the party and caved to the pressure of ads...). When I saw people selling virtual cards on eBay, I threw my "wait, what?" flag up. Then I saw the physical SW Card Trader boxes at Target, They had redemption cards for virtual cards.

The vortex closed in on itself and I deleted the app.

Yeah, not surprised at all. After spending a lot of time trading the past few days and coming across some high level accounts it's so obvious that there are some HUGE spenders out there. Guys with scores of 99, 130,000+ cards, full gold sets and multiple golds (some cases up to a half dozen) of the highest scoring players like Brent Burns, every insert ever released, and ungodly amounts of dupes of all colors. One of these guys alone was sitting on 20+ teals of guys I'd been trading for like Matthews and McDavid. No way in hell an account like that gets so stacked by everyday trading and pack opening. That dude must be well into the thousands spent in the app and probably on eBay as well.

Meanwhile I've got a whopping two gold cards and I had to trade my *** off the last couple of days to get those. You've got to be into it just for the fun of collecting otherwise competing with these guys is impossible.
