Hello everyone. I know I haven't been around much; been busy. Hope you're doing well :)

I had a stack of cards that looked like it was about to topple over, and I have some time before the Caps-Flyers game this afternoon, so I thought I'd share the mail and put it away before watching the game.

Nothing is available at this time.

We'll get started with some mail from fellow members.

First off, from none other than The Cooker himself, Greg sent me these:

gregplotnikoffcookercookes.jpg

An abundant volume of Matt Cooke cards, including a few RC's! Greg sent me these from the goodness of his heart after I asked the site for some Cooke cards to support one of the three newest Capitals helping their drive to the playoffs! Thanks again Greg!

This group of cards came from rhynorat (Ryan):

ryanthomsponrhynoratatg-bd.jpg

05-06 UD MVP ATG Nash, Vokoun, Sittler, Robitaille
07-08 Black Diamond Dwayne Roloson, Ryan Miller Quad

But, these were just to finish the trade that we started for these two cards:
2007SPGameUsed.jpg
2007SPGameUsedAuthenticFabrics.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Lecavalier base and Authentic Fabrics
- This is the first Lecavalier jersey from this product where both swatches were 2-color. Ryan made this card available to me as soon as he pulled it, and we easily worked out a deal for it. Thanks again Ryan!

Next, from hs86183 (Hendrik):
2007SPGameUsedGold.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Lecavalier Gold

From Michael Lay (sorry, forgot your user name :|)
2007OPC.jpg
2007OPCMicromotion.jpg

07-08 O-Pee-Chee Lecavalier Base and Micromotion
- Being in such a hobby cold-bed, you realize just how hard it can be sometimes to get your hands on even the easiest of cards to acquire, such as a base card. Mike helped out big time to fill in the void of the OPC set for me, even though I already had all his quad jerseys long before these arrived.

Also got this in from our friends at Upper Deck:
2006UDUltimateSignatures.jpg

06-07 UD Ultimate Signatures Lecavalier SP
- This is actually the second copy they sent me. The first one was completely destroyed by the post office, so I sent it back and they sent me this one to replace it.

Now, let's get on to some stuff from the 'Bay.

First, some new Exclusives for my set:

exclusivesgrierhoglund.jpg

99-00 UD Exclusives Mike Grier and Jonas Hoglund
- As I near closer and closer to this set's completion, finding cards I need is becoming harder and harder. And that's not necessarily a bad thing haha

Some Bobby Hull autos:

1994ParkhurstAuto.jpg

94-95 Parkhurst Missing Link Tallboys Auto Bobby Hull /964
- For there being 964 copies of this card floating around, they go for a surprisingly large amount of money, and are quite difficult to find. Guess /1000 14 years ago is like /10 today :D

2006ParkhurstAuto.jpg

06-07 Parkhurst Auto Bobby Hull
- This was the third and last card I needed to get his three autos from this set; I already had both of his dual autos.

2007UDTrilogyIceScripts.jpg

07-08 UD Trilogy Ice Scripts Bobby Hull
- These cards are just flippin' sweet

And now, entirely too many Vincent Lecavalier cards, followed by the stars of the mail

First, a card that I didn't realize existed:

2002SPGameUsed.jpg

02-03 SP Game Used Lecavalier base
- For some reason, I thought he only had the First Rounders patch in this product. Then this card popped up on ebay, and I picked it up very cheap.

2005SPxWinningMaterialsSpectrum6.jpg

05-06 SPx Winning Materials Spectrum Lecavalier /10
- Like the Authentic Fabrics above, this is the first copy of this card I've seen where both swatches have two colors each, and the non-white color is different in both to boot. I have another copy of this card available if anyone is interested.

2007HotProspectsHotMaterial.jpg

07-08 Hot Prospects Hot Materials Lecavalier
- I'm actually not a fan of this design at all. Too much going on, in my opinion. But, as they say, "Hellooooo OCD!"

2007ITGOCanadaHSHSPrize.jpg

07-08 ITG O Canada He Shoots-He Scores Prize Lecavalier 4/20
- Wow, that swatch is HUGE! It's easily about 2 sq. inches in size, with a nice 2-color swatch to boot. The serial number ain't too shabby either ;)

2007OPCSignatures.jpg

07-08 O-Pee-Chee Signatures Lecavalier SP

2007SPGameUsedAutograph.jpg
2007SPGameUsedAuthenticFabricsRainb.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Auto Parallel 10/10
07-08 SP Game Used Authentic Fabrics Rainbow /100

2007SPGameUsedDualJerseyRichards.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Dual Jersey Lecavalier/Richards

2007SPGameUsedTripleJerseySakicThor.jpg
2007SPGameUsedTripleJerseyTampa.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Triple Jersey Sakic/Thornton/Lecavalier
07-08 SP Game Used Triple Jersey Lecavalier/St. Louis/Richards
- If you look closely, the Sakic swatch is also 2-colors. Cool.

2007SPGameUsedFivePatch.jpg
2007SPGameUsedFivePatchback.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used 5-Patch Holik/Lecavalier/Staal/Weiss/Kozlov

2007SPGameUsedInkedSweatersJersey.jpg
2007SPGameUsedInkedSweatersPatch.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Inked Sweaters Jersey 4/50
07-08 SP Game Used Inked Sweaters Patch 25/25
- I LOVE the swatch on the Inked Patch card. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to get it. Does anyone know where it comes from?

2007SPGameUsedDualInkedSweatersThor.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Dual Inked Sweaters Thornton/Lecavalier

2007SPxJerseyAuto.jpg

07-08 SPx Jersey Auto Lecavalier /10

2007SPxXtreme.jpg
2007SPxXtremeSpectrum.jpg

07-08 SPx Xtreme Lecavalier
07-08 SPx Xtreme Radiance Lecavalier

2007SPxWinningMaterialsSpect.jpg

07-08 SPx Winning Materials Jersey/Patch

2007SPxWinningCombos.jpg

07-08 SPx Winning Combos Lecavalier/St. Louis

2007SPxForceSakicThorntonSpezza.jpg

07-08 SPx Force Sakic/Thornton/Lecavalier/Spezza
- I think we can all agree that this is one of the best inserts of the year.

2007UpperDeckAllWorldTeam.jpg

07-08 Upper Deck All-World Team (retail only)

2007UpperDeckJersey.jpg
2007UpperDeckFabFourFabrics.jpg

07-08 Upper Deck Lecavalier jersey SP
07-08 Upper Deck Sakic/Spezza/Lecavalier/Lindros quad jersey /100
- I was waiting for a quad jersey with more than just white or black swatches on it. I really like the green of the Lindros jersey; definately a change of pace.

2007UDArtifactsTreasuredSwatches.jpg
2007UDArtifactsTundraTriosTampaRed.jpg

07-08 UD Artifacts Treasured Swatches Lecavalier
07-08 UD Artifacts Tundra Trios Patch Lecavalier/St. Louis/Richards
- The triple patch would have been one of my stars had it not been for the very bland Vinny swatch, and the awesomeness of those cards which DID make it ;)

2007UDTrilogyScript2.jpg
2007UDTrilogyIceScripts.jpg

07-08 UD Trilogy Script 2 Lecavalier
07-08 UD Trilogy Ice Scripts Lecavalier

Alright, enough of this tom-foolery, let's get on with the main attractions and why you're all here..the Stars of the Mail!

In today's episode, we have not just the usual trio of stars. Oh no, today we have much, much more. In fact, here today, we have SIX! Yes, that's right, SIX stars of the mail! So, what are we waiting for!

Sixth Star of the Mail

This card has been on my wantlist ever since I saw the set come out. I'm just glad that I got a little color on it.

2006TheCupCornerstonesJerseyAuto.jpg

06-07 The Cup Foundations Quad Jersey Auto Vincent Lecavalier /10

Now, you ask, what could possibly beat a quad jersey auto /10 from last years' The Cup? Well, at least 5 in my opinion :p

Fifth Star of the Mail

2006UDArtifactsTundraTandemsDual-5.jpg

06-07 UD Artifacts Tundra Tandem dual Jersey Blue Lecavalier/Richards 4/5
- Again, another card I failed to realize existed. The serial numbering isn't anything to shake a stick at, either :D

Well, you must be a bit flabbergasted right now, trying to figure out how FOUR cards are better than EITHER of those cards, let alone BOTH! Well, just keep reading and you'll find out ;)

Fourth Star of the Mail

2007SPGameUsedSixJerseySC.jpg
2007SPGameUsedSixJerseySCback.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used Six Jersey Khabibulin/Lecavalier/St. Louis/Kiprusoff/Iginla/Leopold 4/7
- I think this is an amazing card depicting players from the Lightning Stanley Cup run of the 2003-2004 Cup Finals series. And again, I point your attention to the serial numbering :D

Well, if you're not on the edge of your seat, wondering, waiting to see what could possibly ever top these three cards, then you need to go to the hospital because you must not have a pulse. Or a butt.

Third Star of the Mail
2005SPAuthenticSOTTTripleStLouisRic.jpg

05-06 SP Authentic Sign of the Times Triple St. Louis/Lecavalier/Richards /15
- I do believe this is the first copy of this card that I've seen, possibly the second. Either way, still an amazing and rediculously hard-to-find card. If I'm not mistaken, most if not all of these came out of 06-07 packs, did they not?

Did you find your butt yet? :dizzy:

Second Star of the Mail

This card came from everyones second favorite Steve, Mr. Beke. You know, the OTHER Steve.

2002BAPSignatureSeriesAutoJersey.jpg

02-03 BAP Signature Series Jersey Autograph Lecavalier 10/10
- Steve claims to have had this card for months before he listed it on eBay. Heck if I knew

Now, for the moment you've allllll been waiting for. Hoping for. Scrolling mercilessly for! Here's the....

First STARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR of the Mail

2007SPGameUsedByTheLetter.jpg

07-08 SP Game Used By The Letter Lecavalier 4/10
- This goes quite nicely with this other card I already had:

2006SPGUByTheLetter4of10-A-.jpg

Thanks for looking! As always, comments are welcome and appreciated! Now, it's just about time to go watch the Caps play the Flyers

Amazing additions CJ! So thats where the A went... I should've known ;) Oh and Steve did have that in his buckett for quite a while lol. Figured you already had it though. Congrats on the great additions.

Actually, I emailed the seller and asked if had it available after he had taken the listing down. He was going to bring it to some card show and try to sell it, but I made him an offer he couldn't refuse and he sold it to me instead of bringing it to the show. So, I didn't ask him to end the auction early, he did that himself. :p

Canucksfreak - Thanks for the comment.

CJ.

Congrats on your latest addition(s), buddy ;)

Definitely some sweet lookin' Vinny's ya' got there

Thanks for takin' the time to scan all those goodies. Keep up the great work

Cheers,
Eli:beer:

CJ, It sure looks like you have a busy few months even though you didn't pop up much on the boards, haha! What an awesome haul of Vinny's - the 05-06 SPa Triple is my favorite though. I have a Naslund of that set myself and it's one of my best autos - the design that came out that year, beyond the single and dual autos, was a beautiful set.

Julian

Hey great haul! Glad you like the Cookes too, it was my pleasure :). Also, that Hull tallboy is awesome. Those tallboy autos are super sexy IMO. I had a Cournoyer that I still regret trading away :(. Great show!

CJ, It's great to see you pop in. I thought you fell off the map. Awesome additions as usual. One sweeter than the next. You da man. Mike

Thanks for the comments guys! Truely appreciated!

Eli - Thanks, man. Not sure how much of my stuff compares with that "Cyclone' Taylor in your sig, though ;)

Eugene - Thanks! Your Vinny collection is getting beefed up well, too! Oh, and I haven't forgotten about you; I'll send you a package as soon as I get some time! Now, if I could just find some time...

Julian - That's one of my favorites as well, and was a baby whale of mine for a while, since I didn't know if it was going to get produced or not.

Greg - I wish Cooke would have played better yesterday. Would have made this post all that much better :D

Mike - Well, so long as the world does not take on the shape of a map, I think I'll be pretty safe ;)

I had that card sitting in my bucket for at least 3-4 months. Had I known you needed it you would have had it long before you ended up with it as well. I owed you one for the SPGU remember!!! ;) ;)
