Hello everyone. I know I haven't been around much; been busy. Hope you're doing well

I had a stack of cards that looked like it was about to topple over, and I have some time before the Caps-Flyers game this afternoon, so I thought I'd share the mail and put it away before watching the game.

Nothing is available at this time.

We'll get started with some mail from fellow members.

First off, from none other than The Cooker himself, Greg sent me these:

An abundant volume of Matt Cooke cards, including a few RC's! Greg sent me these from the goodness of his heart after I asked the site for some Cooke cards to support one of the three newest Capitals helping their drive to the playoffs! Thanks again Greg!



This group of cards came from rhynorat (Ryan):

05-06 UD MVP ATG Nash, Vokoun, Sittler, Robitaille
07-08 Black Diamond Dwayne Roloson, Ryan Miller Quad

But, these were just to finish the trade that we started for these two cards:

07-08 SP Game Used Lecavalier base and Authentic Fabrics
- This is the first Lecavalier jersey from this product where both swatches were 2-color. Ryan made this card available to me as soon as he pulled it, and we easily worked out a deal for it. Thanks again Ryan!

- Being in such a hobby cold-bed, you realize just how hard it can be sometimes to get your hands on even the easiest of cards to acquire, such as a base card. Mike helped out big time to fill in the void of the OPC set for me, even though I already had all his quad jerseys long before these arrived.



Also got this in from our friends at Upper Deck:

06-07 UD Ultimate Signatures Lecavalier SP
- This is actually the second copy they sent me. The first one was completely destroyed by the post office, so I sent it back and they sent me this one to replace it.



Now, let's get on to some stuff from the 'Bay.


First, some new Exclusives for my set:

99-00 UD Exclusives Mike Grier and Jonas Hoglund
- As I near closer and closer to this set's completion, finding cards I need is becoming harder and harder. And that's not necessarily a bad thing haha :laugh:


Some Bobby Hull autos:

94-95 Parkhurst Missing Link Tallboys Auto Bobby Hull /964
- For there being 964 copies of this card floating around, they go for a surprisingly large amount of money, and are quite difficult to find. Guess /1000 14 years ago is like /10 today

06-07 Parkhurst Auto Bobby Hull
- This was the third and last card I needed to get his three autos from this set; I already had both of his dual autos.

07-08 UD Trilogy Ice Scripts Bobby Hull
- These cards are just flippin' sweet


And now, entirely too many Vincent Lecavalier cards, followed by the stars of the mail



First, a card that I didn't realize existed:

02-03 SP Game Used Lecavalier base
- For some reason, I thought he only had the First Rounders patch in this product.:crazy: Then this card popped up on ebay, and I picked it up very cheap.

05-06 SPx Winning Materials Spectrum Lecavalier /10
- Like the Authentic Fabrics above, this is the first copy of this card I've seen where both swatches have two colors each, and the non-white color is different in both to boot. I have another copy of this card available if anyone is interested.

07-08 Hot Prospects Hot Materials Lecavalier
- I'm actually not a fan of this design at all. Too much going on, in my opinion. But, as they say, "Hellooooo OCD!"

07-08 ITG O Canada He Shoots-He Scores Prize Lecavalier 4/20
- Wow, that swatch is HUGE! It's easily about 2 sq. inches in size, with a nice 2-color swatch to boot. The serial number ain't too shabby either

Alright, enough of this tom-foolery, let's get on with the main attractions and why you're all here..the Stars of the Mail!

In today's episode, we have not just the usual trio of stars. Oh no, today we have much, much more. In fact, here today, we have SIX! Yes, that's right, SIX stars of the mail! So, what are we waiting for!


Sixth Star of the Mail

This card has been on my wantlist ever since I saw the set come out. I'm just glad that I got a little color on it.

- Again, another card I failed to realize existed. The serial numbering isn't anything to shake a stick at, either




Well, you must be a bit flabbergasted right now, trying to figure out how FOUR cards are better than EITHER of those cards, let alone BOTH! Well, just keep reading and you'll find out

07-08 SP Game Used Six Jersey Khabibulin/Lecavalier/St. Louis/Kiprusoff/Iginla/Leopold 4/7
- I think this is an amazing card depicting players from the Lightning Stanley Cup run of the 2003-2004 Cup Finals series. And again, I point your attention to the serial numbering





Well, if you're not on the edge of your seat, wondering, waiting to see what could possibly ever top these three cards, then you need to go to the hospital because you must not have a pulse. Or a butt. :laugh:

- I do believe this is the first copy of this card that I've seen, possibly the second. Either way, still an amazing and rediculously hard-to-find card. If I'm not mistaken, most if not all of these came out of 06-07 packs, did they not?

This card came from everyones second favorite Steve, Mr. Beke. You know, the OTHER Steve.

Actually, I emailed the seller and asked if had it available after he had taken the listing down. He was going to bring it to some card show and try to sell it, but I made him an offer he couldn't refuse and he sold it to me instead of bringing it to the show. So, I didn't ask him to end the auction early, he did that himself.

CJ, It sure looks like you have a busy few months even though you didn't pop up much on the boards, haha! What an awesome haul of Vinny's - the 05-06 SPa Triple is my favorite though. I have a Naslund of that set myself and it's one of my best autos - the design that came out that year, beyond the single and dual autos, was a beautiful set.
