Something is wrong with eBay

Not sure if this has been talking about before but I am sure it has. So I had a card listed and was selling for a nice amount, about twice what I thought it was going to go for, buyer had like 1000+ feedback. Last second he was outbid by $1 buy a 0 feedback buyer.

Now I know everyone has to start somewhere and I have had great deals with 0 feedback buyers in the past, well not this one. No payment, no reply to invoice or contact. So I gave him a bit of time (maybe I shouldn't have) and filed a claim. I closed the claim and got my fees back but now the other bidder didn't reply to my second chance offer.

So I now have it listed and feel like it is not going to sell for what it would have before. There needs to be something in place where new buyers must have some money in holding by eBay/Paypal and payment is automatically generated when they win until they have a specific amount of feedback.

Anyways just venting because this buyer likely cost me a decent chunk of cash.

I am sure others have had the same as I see some buyers have rules for low feedback buyers.
 
I totally hear ya! That's the one thing that's driven me nuts on eBay as of late.
I've now added buyer requirements to all of my listings now. Low feedback scores, reported unpaid cases, no Paypal account add-ons have all been added to help clean up the selling process.

I have had that same problem. Bidder A is bidding on a ton of items. Bidder B comes in and out bids then and doesn't pay. Bidder A ignores my second chance offers because he thought I shilled them. I agree with you 100% that Ebay needs to find away to hold some of these buyers accountable. I like your idea of an escrow to back up their purchases.

You can set it so that no one with a paypal account link to their eBay can bid. Most of the time, these guys who are bidding to be A-holes don't have a valid PP linked to their eBay account.
 
Many just appears to bidding lotsa auctions for the sake of the thrill and never had an intention to paying them or even caring of replying our messages, had same problem here in sweden at numerous times at our own auction site "tradera" plus ebay...of course I lost some cash then but I did lost even more in valuable times and my own sane plus was never able to sell that item so much afterwards when relisting as I did before....

It's like a trip or rush for some to do this insanity...

I also understand the person ignoring the 2nd chance offers as I would feel like I was being shilled as well.

Gotta love eBay.
 
but you also can't leave them negative feedback. I just a sold jersey for my son and told him how much I got. A couple of days after it ended and not hearing back f rom buyer, i checked his feedback. It was a positive 2. But the comments were that he did not respond or pay for items. he hasnt respomnded or paid. So what do i do? I assume I have to leave a positive also just so i can leave him the written feedback he deserves? and the process to get fees back..I dont want to wait around for a week!!!! Im sure theyw ill fix it at some point but right now as sellers we are at the mercy of the bidders.
 
I just had a guy who tried to extort $20 from me. Was blatant about it too. His negative feedback was removed within minutes after I got on the phone.

Something has to be done about the impunity that some people feel they can behave with out there. There's no accountability for buyers. They can take 7 days, 23 hours, and 57 minutes to pay and all I can do is leave a meek +1. If I take that long to ship, I get a torrent of "where's my item?" messages and nailed on my DSR's.
 
I've said this before on these type of threads: if you get a non-paying ebay buyer then discover that his supposed mostly/all positive feedback is in reality a bunch of "non-paying feedbacks"…complain to ebay and ask that he/she get removed entirely. Ebay has done this both times I've pointed out two "buyers" that were a complete waste of time.

It's not the best solution but at least you get the satisfaction of having them removed from ebay.
