Hey y'all.

Just doing my regular EBay searches, and came across this auction. Right away I knew something didn't seem right. After owning and handling over 40-50 Orr auto's in my time, this piece just didn't seem right. I believe the card itself is legit. But it may have been acquired unsigned. And someone laid down their best Orr impersonation. I've never in my time, seen anything close to this. As Orr seems to be a pretty fluent and steady signer Going to suck for whoever wins this item. Because I believe they are being totally duped. Going to be tough to tell someone "hey pal, you're Orr auto is fake" when it comes affixed with the UD COA on the back? This may be something that Upper Deck may look into with their fraud team? If indeed the card or auto itself is bogus. Just a heads up, incase someone here was interested in taking a run at this.

Something's ringing a bell to me about those cards never being signed by Orr - either getting lost in transit or getting out the back door before he could sign them...

I believe Orr signs with his left hand. This auto is slanted the opposite way as if signed by a right handed person.

I dont collect Orr, but I have never seen his signature look so sloppy. I'd stay away.

Plus, the signed Gretzky jerseys he has in his other listings, they look fake to me. The stitching, placement, and letters/numbers are way to wavey. All are signs they are chinese rip offs, or someone does not care about the quality of their work.

Signatures can change, but among early 2000 autos of his there are no other examples that remotely resemble that signature. Fake for sure.

For some reason I believe this was the year that Orr and Bourque SOTT cards went missing and if there were any that were actually inserted, they came with a separate UDA COA card and hologram - like most of the 5 or more signers auto cards and buybacks are done today...

+1
On top of that, in both cases, it looks like the signer had no idea how much room his signature requires! Unless that's a drunk out of his mind Bobby Orr auto, that's gotta be fake.

Orr's signature is consistent, especially on the Upper Deck stuff. There's no way that's his signature. How the seller got it, and if they were directly involved in any shenanigans, who knows. I just wouldn't go anywhere near it.

You and I wouldn't go near that but unfortunately somebody will.
