So I have a cool story to share. Everyone in my office knows what a cardboard nerd I am. They all know how I buy and sell and its become sort of a funny story at work. I get called a hustla, deala and all other sorts of funny names attributed to hocking wares.. I don't mind it because it makes for fun banter.

I had a project I was working on and needed a graphic designer to do the job. We had run low on resources and I was offered the services of an intern to finish the work we needed done. Her name is Kristen and she was an amazing help. Typically at lunch hour at work, we pull out a few wobbly pops and sit down and chill out. Given that beer is in ample supply, it makes for a fun and exciting atmosphere at work.

As we were chatting, the conversation once again arose about my hocking collectibles to customers. So I explained what I do and went through some old cards brought in by a friend of mine. Kristen was quietly working away at her desk when her boss walks into our conversation and tells me we have a celebrity sports person at work. My ears perked and I said who? He points over at Kristen. It suddenly dawned on me who her Dad was. None other than Ron Stackhouse from the early 70's. Kristen was more than cordial in answering my questions about what it was like growing up with an NHLer Dad.
She told me how her family has been poaching eBay looking for her Dad's cards so that they can give it out to the family. I immediately went home that night and found about 3 or 4 cards I could give to her family. She was so excited and so was I. I felt good and was totally enthralled by the stories she told me about her Dad's professional career. Lets just say people were not as careful about their health and well being in those days as they are now LOL.

I came into work today and found a surprise. Her Dad signed one of my cards.
I was over the moon. It's days like this that make life extra special to me.

Below the scan, you will see two cards of Wade Belak that I did not have. Kindly enough Fritz decided to reach out to me and offer them up for sale. I quickly grabbed em.. and so they are here.. two more Belaks off the list.

Enjoy!

Great story Ameet. I always love hearing cool stories like that.

Nice additions to your PC as well.

Awesome story bro!

So I have to ask - what's the Gilly Leaf crest? I might hit you up for a single scan of it for my book
