Wow, didn't see this coming! I am actually glad to see him leaving, this coming from a Cubs fan. Cubs in return get Jerry Hairston Jr. and two prospects. I don't think Cubs nation will mourn most were fed up with him ever since the past season.

Too bad they couldn't get Julio. Their OF is a mess once the deal goes through, but unloading Sosa is probably worth it.

Chicago's talking to Tampa and Washington about Aubrey Huff and Brad Wilkerson, now. I'm hoping they land the Wilks.

Sammy wasnt a Cubsfest but was booed anytime his name was mentioned. Hairston is decent and they free up alot of money, they should have done this more quickly when the prime free agents were out there.

I am amazed the Cubs, paying 10 million or so of his 17 million, couldn't find any other takers for Sammy. Interesting deal nonetheless.

Pitdog, if you can look at past threads, I have lambasted Dusty many times while he was manager of the Giants. If you are a Cubbie fan, I truly feel your pain.
