There are a few new releases coming out next month around the same time and hopefully they deliver. Which product are you looking forward to the most....SP Authentic or Rookie Anthology? Both products have their own unique attributes, although I think Rookie Anthology might be in the driver`s seat with a bonus pack of Prizm in each box. From my understanding SPA will have a bonus pack of SPx, but it won`t be one per box.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Matt

All I have to say is Panini has had quite some time to make Anthology worthwhile, so I can only hope it delivers. I liked it last year, and this year looks to be an even bigger improvement.

SPA will naturally have the Upper Deck set chasers on its side, but they'll need to make the product considerably noticeable since theyre sticking to only 3 autos as per usual.

It will be interesting to see no doubt, will be trying at LEAST one box of each.

Honestly....
Why bother with either Rookie Class driven product with almost no viable Rookies?
Seems like a recipe for disaster from both manufacturer and buyer.

Products will not sell well - making UD/Panini upset.
Customers will not get the value they expect out of the product and be unhappy as well.

Sometimes it is far better to step backwards than go ahead with ill-conceived plans.

There are a lot of hits in both, but as said before with the rookie crop it's only going to hurt the wallet. People have finally realized this year that Kreider and Baertschi, although good prospects, are not top tier prospects. In a few years I think this rookie crop could be looked upon in the same light as 1999-00 (Brendl, Kraft, etc.). Personally, I'm saving my money for next year.

I'm looking forward to Rookie Anthology more. All the goodness of Rookie Anthology, Prizm, Titanium, Crown Royale and Luxury Suite packed into one product has me excited. I've heard from Panini that "all 48 eligible rookies will have a Rookie Treasures memorabilia auto, Silhouette memorabilia auto, and Luxury Suite memorabilia autograph card".

Even though this years rookie class isn't great like it has been the past few years, there are a few players who stick out in my mind as players with decent potential (Jakob Silverburg, Casey Cizikas, Mark Stone, Riley Sheanen, Tyson Barrie and Jason Zucker).

Preorder wise, this is not even close. SPA is the hands down winner of this horse race. Cases vs boxes.

RA was a good product last year but a RC product with no or few worthy RCs is not going to compare to SPA.

Very Competitive prices offered to Ontario residents.

I think I like the sound of RA better than SPA, but SPA has a much bigger base of dedicated collectors. I'll watch a few breaks of both on YT before I lay out much $$ on them (maybe do a group break or two). Decades 90's will be here before we know it!

Coming out with a Rookie Anthology product in a very poor rookie year seems like a bad idea.

I've never seen the allure of RA. To me, it's a collection of low-end hits from various low-end sets piled in to one box. Crown Royale, Titanium, and Luxury Suite all in the same products sounds horrible to me, but whatever floats your boat.

As a natural born reformed then unreformed cracker, I will do both. However I am not going to do by box anymore. Sticking to cases this time and will only do 1 case of any product I am interested in.

If you're looking to crack some cases of these products we'll cut you a good deal :D

Not going to touch anything hockey until next years products come out. We've already seen the rookie class of last year and the number of useless in products such as Retro, so a big thumbs down for me on both. To me Rookie Anthology is the same as Certified and that product dries up extremely quickly and you can get star autos/25 for less than $10 which is absolutely absurd!

Panini busted a couple of boxes of Rookie Anthology. Small sample, but the hits seem really low end. Even with 5-7 memorabilia/auto hits per box, there was nothing in there that screamed excitement to me.

Agreed. But those Vezina Contenders are cool.I wonder if there is a hard signed version.

Im not a huge fan of the RA but I do like to crack SPA. There will be a weaker class with this SPA release so fingers crossed that the boxes aren't completely horrid.

I think Rookie Anthology turned out to be better than most people expected. I'm wondering if the demand will drop off after SPA is released. Do you guys think RA will have legs?
