SPA Rookie Redemptions???

I have a couple of questions abvout the Rookie redemptions in 04-05 SPA. As for the Team redemptions, are those for the players drafted last year. For instance the Rangers Drafted Al Montoya with their first pick last year. Is the Rangers redemption gonna be for him? Question #2, What's is the deal with the Wildcards? Are they for guys in the upcoming draft(if there is one) or are they for guys from last years draft. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

I believe they are for the best/first rookie to make that team as in past years.

The Wild Cards I believe are to cover teams that may have 2 good rookies at the start of the year(ie. if Washington gets Crosby to go with Ovechkin)

As a side note, some of the Wild Cards have different fonts on the front and the UD hologram at the back is gold or silver

Brad got it. They are for the top rookie on each team... I guess as viewed by Upper Deck. Who knows what might happen if for example Crosby and Ovechkin ended up on Washington, it's hard to say which one of the two would end up as a Wild Card and which as the Capitals redemption. Then again, there's the off chance that either player may not even play, in which case the redemptions would be passed down to another player. It's also possible that a team might have 3 rookies that would make the set, but the cards are made per team to guarantee one rookie slot from each team.

Basically people are paying outrageous money for them just on the assumption they might turn out to be Crosby. With the idea we heard a few weeks ago on how they might end up running the next draft, any team could get Crosby, and everyone here knows that it'll be a 2-300 dollar card.
