Dont bother visiting, there is nothing there.

Let me explain,
I was pretty frustrated that Beckett does not have pricing available for cards numbered to 25 or less so I thought of a plan. I want to create a database of all cards sold numbered to 25 or less. The information will not contain any buyer/seller data. Just a picture of the card and the price it was sold for. I have started with 08-09 Trilogy and you can view the messy file here. I know nothing about setting up a database or a website so if anyone wants to help please let me know.

So far, I have only tracked ebay sales. In the future I would like to track private sales too. Please let me know what you all think.

Thanks!

You may want to try contacting weasel-king. He started one of these a while ago, but has since moved on from hockey cards. He had a very nice website and everything. I would bet he still has it too.

Good luck out there either way. I have also tried something like this, but it was just too time consuming.

another great place to start is looking up all of the Short Reports sections of past Beckett issues. their book values may need updating over time but you don't have to worry about the accuracy of their Short Reports since most were direct from ebay ending values.

I don't want to discourage you, but it a very ambitious project. I have thought of it myself and I have both website and programming experience. Take today for example there is 70,000+ hockey listings on eBay. If you take an average of 7 day listings, then 10,000 will be completed today. If just 5% (which is low because a lot of low number cards get on eBay) were /25 or less than that would be 500 listings, and say just 10% sold that would be 50 listings everyday, 365 days a year. That alone to find an "enter" them on any system would be a lot of work (I'm guessing 3-4 hours). So, before you have created any site, you are committing to that kind of time. Sure you might hope users would enter their own, but your site has to get sufficiently large enough for people to even consider spending time to upload their own. Sorry for the reality check. But for all that people dog Beckett, their job is monumental, when you considering how many cards end everyday on eBay alone.

allstarcollectors - I am looking to start from 09 trilogy and go forward. I made the mistake and spent $100 on the domain and hosting and its a billion times harder then I thought.

Does anyone have any contact info for weasel-king?

Thanks!

Your going to need some help. So if you wanted you could make the datebase updateable by other members. Have them sign up or what what and be able to add in the card that they sold or seen sold.

Also you would need to update the card if it sold more then once. So maybe a history of that card could be made available as well?
